FRONT CAMERA INSTALLATION

CAUTION / NOTICE / HINT

Note


  • When replacing the forward recognition camera (camera sensor), replace it with a new one.

  • Do not touch the camera lens. If the camera lens has been touched, do not use the forward recognition camera (camera sensor).

  • If the forward recognition camera (camera sensor) has been struck or dropped, replace it with a new one.

  • If the forward recognition camera (camera sensor) is not properly installed, forward recognition camera (camera sensor) optical axis learning cannot be performed properly. Make sure the forward recognition camera (camera sensor) is installed securely.

  • Replace the forward recognition camera (camera sensor) if there is any foreign matter on the camera lens.

  • When replacing the windshield glass of a vehicle equipped with a forward recognition camera (camera sensor), make sure to use a Lexus genuine part. If a non-Lexus genuine part is used, the forward recognition camera (camera sensor) may not be able to be installed due to a missing bracket. Also, the LKA/LDA system, forward recognition camera system, dynamic radar cruise control system, pre-crash safety system or automatic high beam system may not operate properly due to a difference in the transmissivity or black ceramic border.

  • If the forward recognition camera bracket is deformed or damaged, replace it together with the windshield glass.

  • If there is any foreign matter on the area of the windshield glass in front of the forward recognition camera (camera sensor), clean the windshield glass before installing the forward recognition camera (camera sensor).

PROCEDURE


  1. INSTALL FORWARD RECOGNITION WITH HEATER HOOD SUB-ASSEMBLY (w/ Camera Heater)

    Note

    During work, do not touch the shaded area on the forward recognition with heater hood sub-assembly shown in the illustration.

      Attach the guide in the direction indicated by the arrow (1) in the illustration.

    2. Attach the claw in the direction indicated by the arrow (2) in the illustration.

      Note

      Do not press the heater area.

      Attach the guide to install the wire harness to the forward recognition bracket as shown in the illustration.

    4. B002CXY

      Attach the connector clamp to install the forward recognition with heater hood sub-assembly.

      Connect the connector.

  2. INSTALL FORWARD RECOGNITION CAMERA (CAMERA SENSOR)

      When using a new forward recognition camera (camera sensor):


      1. Remove the protective film.

        Note

        Do not touch the camera lens after removing the protective film.

      1. Engage the guides as shown in the illustration.

        Note

        Do not touch the camera lens.

      2. Connect the connector to install the forward recognition camera (camera sensor).

        Do not touch the camera lens.

      2. Connect the connector to install the forward recognition camera (camera sensor).

  3. INSTALL FORWARD RECOGNITION LATCH

    Note

    Before installing the forward recognition latch, make sure that the forward recognition camera is securely installed to the vehicle.

  4. INSTALL NO. 1 FORWARD RECOGNITION COVER

      Engage the clips and guides as shown in the illustration to install the No. 1 forward recognition cover.

  5. INSTALL NO. 2 FORWARD RECOGNITION COVER

      Engage the guides and claws as shown in the illustration to install the No. 2 forward recognition cover.

  6. ADJUST FORWARD RECOGNITION CAMERA


    1. If the forward recognition camera (camera sensor) has been replaced or the windshield glass has been removed and installed, it is necessary to perform Recognition Camera/Target Position Memory and Recognition Camera Axis Adjust.
