PROCEDURE
INSPECT PCV VALVE (VENTILATION VALVE SUB-ASSEMBLY)
Install a clean hose to the PCV valve (ventilation valve sub-assembly).
Check PCV valve (ventilation valve sub-assembly) operation.

Case Separator Side |
Blow air into the case separator side, and check that air passes through easily.
CAUTION:
When inspecting the PCV valve (ventilation valve sub-assembly), do not suck air through the valve.
There are blow-by gas substances remaining inside the PCV valve (ventilation valve sub-assembly) that are harmful to inhale.
If the result is not as specified, replace the PCV valve (ventilation valve sub-assembly).

Intake Air Surge Tank Assembly Side |
Blow air into the intake air surge tank assembly side, and check that air passes through with difficulty.
CAUTION:
When inspecting the PCV valve (ventilation valve sub-assembly), do not suck air through the valve.
There are blow-by gas substances remaining inside the PCV valve (ventilation valve sub-assembly) that are harmful to inhale.
If the result is not as specified, replace the PCV valve (ventilation valve sub-assembly).
Remove the clean hose from the PCV valve (ventilation valve sub-assembly).
