PCV VALVE INSPECTION

PROCEDURE


  1. INSPECT PCV VALVE (VENTILATION VALVE SUB-ASSEMBLY)


    1. Install a clean hose to the PCV valve (ventilation valve sub-assembly).

    2. Check PCV valve (ventilation valve sub-assembly) operation.

        Blow air into the case separator side, and check that air passes through easily.

        CAUTION:


        • When inspecting the PCV valve (ventilation valve sub-assembly), do not suck air through the valve.

        • There are blow-by gas substances remaining inside the PCV valve (ventilation valve sub-assembly) that are harmful to inhale.

        If the result is not as specified, replace the PCV valve (ventilation valve sub-assembly).

        *a Clean Hose
        *b Air
        B002DP3 Intake Air Surge Tank Assembly Side

        Blow air into the intake air surge tank assembly side, and check that air passes through with difficulty.

        CAUTION:


        • When inspecting the PCV valve (ventilation valve sub-assembly), do not suck air through the valve.

        • There are blow-by gas substances remaining inside the PCV valve (ventilation valve sub-assembly) that are harmful to inhale.

        If the result is not as specified, replace the PCV valve (ventilation valve sub-assembly).

    3. Remove the clean hose from the PCV valve (ventilation valve sub-assembly).
