FUEL SENDER GAUGE ASSEMBLY(w/ Canister Pump Module) INSPECTION

PROCEDURE

1. INSPECT FUEL SENDER GAUGE ASSEMBLY

   CAUTION:

   
   

   • 

     Never perform work on fuel system components near any possible ignition sources.

   • Vaporized fuel could ignite, resulting in a serious accident.

   
   
   1. 

      *a	Component without harness connected (Fuel Sender Gauge Assembly)

      Check that the float moves smoothly between F and E.

   2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Float Level Specified Condition 1 - 2 F 6.5 to 8.5 Ω Between F and E 6.5 to 199.4 Ω (Gradually changes) E 194.4 to 199.4 Ω

      
      

      • If the result is not as specified, replace the fuel sender gauge assembly.

2. INSPECT NO. 2 FUEL SENDER GAUGE ASSEMBLY

   CAUTION:

   
   

   • 

     Never perform work on fuel system components near any possible ignition sources.

   • Vaporized fuel could ignite, resulting in a serious accident.

   
   
   1. 

      *a	Component without harness connected (No. 2 Fuel Sender Gauge Assembly)

      Check that the float moves smoothly between F and E.

   2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Float Level Specified Condition 1 - 2 F 6.5 to 8.5 Ω Between F and E 6.5 to 216.1 Ω (Gradually changes) E 210.1 to 216.1 Ω

      
      

      • If the result is not as specified, replace the No. 2 fuel sender gauge assembly.
