AIR COOLED OIL COOLER REMOVAL

The necessary procedures (adjustment, calibration, initialization, or registration) that must be performed after parts are removed, installed, or replaced during the oil cooler assembly removal/installation are shown below.

PROCEDURE


  1. PRECAUTION

    Note

    If the bolts of the upper transmission oil cooler bracket are loosened, the oil cooler assembly may move out of position and interfere with the front bumper assembly. Do not loosen the bolts of the upper transmission oil cooler bracket.

  3. REMOVE NO. 1 ENGINE UNDER COVER ASSEMBLY

  6. DRAIN AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION FLUID

  8. REMOVE TRANSMISSION OIL COOLER AIR DUCT

      Disengage the clamp to disconnect the wire harness from the transmission oil cooler air duct.

    2. Remove the 2 bolts.

    3. Disengage the guide to remove the transmission oil cooler air duct from the oil cooler assembly.

  9. REMOVE OIL COOLER ASSEMBLY

      *1 No. 5 Transmission Oil Cooler Hose
      *2 Cool Air Intake Duct

      Disengage the clamp to disconnect the No. 5 transmission oil cooler hose from the cool air intake duct.

    2. Slide the clip and disconnect the No. 5 transmission oil cooler hose from the oil cooler tube sub-assembly.

      *1 No. 6 Transmission Oil Cooler Hose
      *2 Cool Air Intake Duct

      Disengage the clamp to disconnect the No. 6 transmission oil cooler hose from the cool air intake duct.

    4. Slide the clip and disconnect the No. 6 transmission oil cooler hose from the oil cooler tube sub-assembly.

      Remove the 2 bolts and 3 clips to disconnect the outlet transmission oil cooler air duct from the front fender liner RH.

      Remove the 4 nuts and oil cooler assembly with outlet transmission oil cooler air duct from the vehicle body.

      Disengage the clamp and remove the hose clamp from the No. 6 transmission oil cooler hose.

    8. Slide the clip and remove the No. 6 transmission oil cooler hose from the oil cooler assembly.

      Disengage the clamp and remove the hose clamp from the No. 5 transmission oil cooler hose.

    10. Slide the clip and remove the No. 5 transmission oil cooler hose from the oil cooler assembly.

      Remove the 2 bolts and outlet transmission oil cooler air duct from the oil cooler assembly.

      Remove the 2 nuts, 2 clips and transmission oil cooler bracket from the oil cooler assembly.

      Note

      Do not loosen the bolts of the upper transmission oil cooler bracket.
