FRONT BUMPER REMOVAL

The necessary procedures (adjustment, calibration, initialization, or registration) that must be performed after parts are removed and installed, or replaced during the front bumper removal/installation are shown below.

PROCEDURE


  1. PRECAUTION (w/ Grille Shutter)


    1. Change the grille shutter control mode to maintenance mode.

      Click here

      Note

      Make sure to change the grille shutter control mode to maintenance mode to prevent the grill shutter from opening or closing when the power switch is off.

  2. REMOVE RADIATOR COVER


    1. B0048JM

      Remove the 5 clips and 2 hood bumper cushions.

    2. B0048HD

      Disengage the guides to remove the radiator cover.

  3. SEPARATE FRONT FENDER MOULDING SUB-ASSEMBLY LH


    1. B0048NS

      Remove the 3 screws and 2 clips.

    2. B0048JKC01
      *1 Pin Hold Clip
      *a 90 deg

      Using a screwdriver, turn the pin 90 degrees and remove the 2 pin hold clips.

      Tech Tips

      Use the same procedure for the RH side and LH side.

      B0048O3 Remove in this Direction (2)

      Pull back the edge of the front fender liner LH and disengage the claws by pushing the area indicated by the arrow in the illustration with a finger.

      Note


      • Do not apply excessive force when pulling back the front fender liner LH.

      • To avoid damaging the claws, do not forcibly pull the front fender moulding sub-assembly LH.

    4. Disengage the clips and separate the front fender moulding sub-assembly LH.

  4. SEPARATE FRONT FENDER MOULDING SUB-ASSEMBLY RH

    Tech Tips

    Use the same procedure as for the LH side.

  5. REMOVE FRONT BUMPER ASSEMBLY

      B0048V2 Protective Tape

      Apply protective tape around the front bumper assembly.

      Tech Tips

      Use the same procedure for the RH side and LH side.

      Remove the 6 screws.

      B0048JB Place Hand Here
      B0048R7 Remove in this Direction

      Disengage the claws as shown in the illustration.

      Tech Tips

      Use the same procedure for the RH side and LH side.

    4. w/ Fog Light:


      1. B0048K9C01
        *A w/ Fog Light
        *B w/o Fog Light
        B0048R7 Remove in this Direction

        Pull back the side of the front bumper assembly and disconnect the connector.

        Note

        Do not apply excessive force when pulling back the front bumper assembly.

        Tech Tips

        Use the same procedure for the RH side and LH side.

    5. w/o Fog Light:


      1. Pull back the side of the front bumper assembly and disconnect the connector from the fog light cover.

        Note

        Do not apply excessive force when pulling back the front bumper assembly.

        Tech Tips

        Use the same procedure for the RH side and LH side.

    6. w/ Headlight Cleaner System:

        Disconnect the washer hose and drain the washer fluid.

        Tech Tips

        Use a container to collect the washer fluid.

      *B w/ TOYOTA Parking Assist-sensor System

      w/ TOYOTA Parking Assist-sensor System:


      1. Disconnect the connector.

    8. w/ Toyota Safety Sense:


      1. Disconnect the connector.

      Remove the 3 bolts.

      Disengage the claw to remove front bumper assembly as shown in the illustration.
