PROCEDURE


  1. INSTALL REAR BUMPER REINFORCEMENT SUB-ASSEMBLY (for Type A)


    1. A005NX4

      Install the rear bumper reinforcement sub-assembly with the 8 bolts.

      Torque:
      18 N*m  { 184 kgf*cm, 13 ft.*lbf }

  2. INSTALL REAR BUMPER ARM SUB-ASSEMBLY RH (for Type B)


    1. A005O2M

      Install the rear bumper arm sub-assembly RH with the 4 bolts.

      Torque:
      18 N*m  { 184 kgf*cm, 13 ft.*lbf }

  3. INSTALL REAR BUMPER UPPER RETAINER LH

      B0048R7 Install in this Direction

      Engage the guides to install the rear bumper upper retainer LH as shown in the illustration.

    2. A005MO4

      Connect the connector.

      Engage the pin and guide to install the rear combination light assembly LH as shown in the illustration.

    4. Install the 3 screws.

      Install the claws and rear combination light cover LH as shown in the illusutration.

  4. INSTALL REAR BUMPER UPPER RETAINER RH

    Tech Tips

    Use the same procedure as for the LH side.

  5. INSTALL REAR BUMPER SIDE RETAINER LH

      Engage the claw and guide to install rear bumper side retainer LH as shown in the illustration.

    2. Install the 2 screws.

  6. INSTALL REAR BUMPER SIDE RETAINER RH

    Tech Tips

    Use the same procedure as for the LH side.

  7. INSTALL REAR BUMPER CENTER GUARD


    1. Engage the claws and guides to install the rear bumper center guard.

    2. Install the 2 clips and 6 outside moulding retainers.

  8. INSTALL REAR BUMPER SIDE STAY LH

      Engage the claw to install the rear bumper side stay LH as shown in the illustration.

    2. Install the clip and screw.

  9. INSTALL REAR BUMPER SIDE STAY RH

    Tech Tips

    Use the same procedure as for the LH side.

  10. INSTALL REAR BUMPER PAD LH

    Tech Tips

    When installing the rear bumper pad LH, heat the rear bumper assembly using a heat light.

    Heating Temperature
    Item Temperature
    Rear Bumper Assembly 40 to 60°C (104 to 140°F)

    Note

    Do not heat the rear bumper assembly excessively.


    1. Clean the rear bumper assembly surface.


      1. Using a heat light, heat the rear bumper assembly surface.

      2. Remove the double-sided tape from the rear bumper assembly.

      3. Wipe off any tape adhesive residue with cleaner.

    2. Remove the release paper from a new rear bumper pad LH.

      Tech Tips

      After removing the release paper, keep the exposed adhesive free from foreign matter.

      Install the rear bumper pad LH as shown in the illustration.

      Tech Tips

      Install the rear bumper pad LH along the line on the rear bumper cover.

  11. INSTALL REAR BUMPER PAD RH

    Tech Tips

    Use the same procedure as for the LH side.

  12. INSTALL REAR BUMPER PAD

    Tech Tips

    When installing the rear bumper pad, heat the rear bumper assembly using a heat light.

    Heating Temperature
    Item Temperature
    Rear Bumper Assembly 40 to 60°C (104 to 140°F)

    Note

  13. INSTALL NO. 1 REAR BUMPER PLATE


    1. A005NRA

      Engage the hook to install the No. 1 rear bumper plate.

    2. A005NQS

      Disengage the claws.

  14. INSTALL REAR BUMPER MOULDING RETAINER LH (w/ Rear Bumper Moulding Retainer)


    1. A005N2N

      Install the No. 1 rear spoiler protector to the rear bumper moulding retainer LH.

    2. A005NIDC01
      *1 Outside Moulding Retainer

      Install the No. 2 rear bumper side retainer LH and rear bumper moulding retainer LH with No. 1 rear spoiler protector.

    3. Install the outside moulding retainer.

    4. Install the 2 nuts.

  15. INSTALL REAR BUMPER MOULDING RETAINER RH (w/ Rear Bumper Moulding Retainer)

    Tech Tips

    Use the same procedure as for the LH side.

  16. INSTALL REAR BUMPER PLATE LH

      Engage the claws to install the rear bumper plate LH as shown in the illustration.

    2. Install the 2 screws.

  17. INSTALL REAR BUMPER PLATE RH

    Tech Tips

    Use the same procedure as for the LH side.

  18. INSTALL REFLEX REFLECTOR ASSEMBLY LH

      Engage the guide and claw to install the reflex reflector assembly as shown in the illustration.

    2. Install the screw.

  20. INSTALL REAR BUMPER UPPER COVER LH

      Engage the hook to install the rear bumper upper cover LH.

  22. INSTALL REAR FOG LIGHT ASSEMBLY

      Install the rear fog light with the 2 screws.

  23. INSTALL NO. 6 FLOOR WIRE


    1. w/ TOYOTA Parking Assist-sensor System and Rear Fog Light:


      1. Engage the clamps to install the No. 6 floor wire.

      2. Connect the connector.

    2. w/ Rear Fog Light:


      1. Engage the clamps to install the No. 6 floor wire.
