DESCRIPTION

The front side ultrasonic sensor (LH) is installed on the front bumper. The ECU detects obstacles based on signals received from the front side ultrasonic sensor (LH). If the front side ultrasonic sensor (LH) has an open circuit or other malfunction, it will not function normally.

Note


  • If DTCs are output after repairs, turn the power switch on (IG) and the TOYOTA parking assist-sensor system on. Then clear the DTCs.

PROCEDURE


  1. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (CLEARANCE WARNING ECU ASSEMBLY - FRONT SIDE ULTRASONIC SENSOR (LH))


    1. Disconnect the F37 clearance warning ECU assembly connector.

    2. Disconnect the B5 front side ultrasonic sensor (LH) connector.

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

  2. REPLACE FRONT SIDE ULTRASONIC SENSOR (LH)


    1. Replace the front side ultrasonic sensor (LH) with a known good one.

      Tech Tips

      All of the sensors are interchangeable. To confirm whether a sensor is functioning normally, switch it with a known good sensor from the other end of the vehicle.
