The necessary procedures (adjustment, calibration, initialization, or registration) that must be performed after parts are removed, installed, or replaced during the transmission control cable assembly removal/installation are shown below.

PROCEDURE


  1. PRECAUTION

    Note

    After turning the power switch off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal. Therefore, make sure to read the disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal notices before proceeding with work.

  2. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

    Note

    When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected.

  3. SECURE VEHICLE


    1. Fully apply the parking brake and chock a wheel.

      CAUTION:


      • A005NBS

        Make sure to apply the parking brake and chock a wheel before performing this procedure.

      • If the vehicle is not secure and the shift lever is moved to N, the vehicle may suddenly move, possibly resulting in an accident or serious injury.

  4. REMOVE NO. 1 ENGINE UNDER COVER

  9. REMOVE FRONT EXHAUST PIPE ASSEMBLY (TWC: Rear Catalyst)

  10. REMOVE FRONT NO. 1 FLOOR HEAT INSULATOR

      Remove 3 nuts and front No. 1 floor heat insulator from the vehicle body.

  11. REMOVE TRANSMISSION CONTROL CABLE ASSEMBLY


    1. Move the shift lever to N.

      B0048R7 Remove in this Direction

      Disconnect the end of the transmission control cable assembly from the floor shift shift lever assembly.

      *1 Slider
      B0048I2 Push
      B0048R7 Remove in this Direction

      Push in the slider and remove the transmission control cable from the floor shift shift lever assembly as shown in the illustration.

      Remove the nut to disconnect the transmission control cable assembly from the control shaft lever.

    5. Remove the clip to disconnect the transmission control cable assembly from the No. 1 transmission control cable bracket.

      Disengage the clamp to separate the transmission control cable assembly.

    7. Remove the bolt to disconnect the transmission control cable assembly from the cylinder head cover sub-assembly.

      Remove the nut.

    9. Disengage the guide to disconnect the transmission control cable assembly from the vehicle body.

      Remove the 2 nuts and transmission control cable assembly from the vehicle body.
