DESCRIPTION

The forward recognition camera receives a Lane Departure Alert Main Switch signal from the steering pad switch assembly.

PROCEDURE


  1. INSPECT STEERING PAD SWITCH ASSEMBLY


    1. Remove the steering pad switch assembly.

    2. Inspect the steering pad switch assembly.

  2. INSPECT SPIRAL CABLE SUB-ASSEMBLY


    1. Remove the spiral cable sub-assembly.

  3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (SPIRAL CABLE SUB-ASSEMBLY - FORWARD RECOGNITION CAMERA)


    1. Disconnect the F29 spiral cable sub-assembly connector.

    2. Disconnect the R5 forward recognition camera connector.

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance (Check for Open)
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      F29-12 (DIST) - R5-3 (LKSW) Always Below 1 Ω
      Standard Resistance (Check for Short)
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      F29-12 (DIST) or R5-3 (LKSW) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
    4. Connect the R5 forward recognition camera connector.

    5. Connect the F29 spiral cable sub-assembly connector.

  4. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (SPIRAL CABLE SUB-ASSEMBLY - BODY GROUND)


    1. Disconnect the F29 spiral cable sub-assembly connector.

    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance (Check for Open)
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      F29-2 (ECC) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω
    3. Reconnect the F29 spiral cable sub-assembly connector.
