DESCRIPTION

When a communication error between the forward recognition camera and the power steering ECU assembly is detected, the forward recognition camera notifies other ECUs and DTC U023A is stored.

U023A Lost Communication with Front Camera Module When the vehicle is being driven at a speed of 5 km/h (3 mph) or more 2 seconds after the power switch is turned on (IG), a communication malfunction between the forward recognition camera and the power steering ECU assembly is detected for 5 seconds or more.

Note


  • When replacing the forward recognition camera, always replace it with a new one. If a forward recognition camera which was installed to another vehicle is used, the information stored in the forward recognition camera will not match the information from the vehicle. As a result, a DTC may be stored.

  • If the forward recognition camera has been replaced with a new one, be sure to perform Forward Recognition Camera Learning.

  • The lane departure alert system uses the CAN communication system. First, confirm that there are no malfunction in the CAN communication system. Refer to How to Proceed with Troubleshooting.

  1. CHECK FOR DTCs (POWER STEERING SYSTEM)

    Tech Tips

    When the lane departure alert system outputs DTC U023A, the power steering system may also output DTC U023A. If DTC U023A is output, perform diagnosis for the power steering system first.

    1. Clear the DTCs.

      Chassis > LKA/LDA > Clear DTCs

    2. Perform the following procedure.

      Tech Tips

      If the following procedure is not performed, the previously output DTC cannot be detected.


      1. Turn the power switch on (IG) and wait 7 seconds or more.

      2. Drive the vehicle at a speed of 5 km/h (3 mph) or more.

    3. Check for DTCs.
