DYNAMIC RADAR CRUISE CONTROL SYSTEM Cruise SET Indicator Light Circuit

DESCRIPTION

The hybrid vehicle control ECU illuminates the cruise control SET indicator by sending indicator output demand signals to the combination meter assembly via CAN communication. The cruise control SET indicator illuminates when the dynamic radar cruise control system is controlling vehicle speed. The cruise SET indicator light circuit uses CAN communication. If the cruise control SET indicator is not functioning correctly, check for CAN communication DTCs before troubleshooting this circuit.

CAUTION:

Observe the following items for safety reasons when using GTS:


  • Before using the GTS, read the instruction GTS.

  • A005NY6

    Prevent the GTS cable from being caught on the pedals, shift lever or steering wheel when driving with the GTS connected to the vehicle.

  • A005N9Z

    When driving the vehicle for testing purposes, 2 people are required. One person should operate the GTS while the other drives the vehicle.

  • Before replacing the hybrid vehicle control ECU refer to Service Bulletin.

  • When replacing the forward recognition camera, always replace it with a new one. If a forward recognition camera which was installed to another vehicle is used, the information stored in the forward recognition camera will not match the information from the vehicle. As a result, a DTC may be stored.

  • When replacing the combination meter assembly, always replace it with a new one. If a combination meter assembly which was installed to another vehicle is used, the information stored in it will not match the information from the vehicle and a DTC may be stored.

PROCEDURE


  1. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING GTS (Meter Display 1)


    1. Connect the GTS to the DLC3.

    2. Turn the power switch on (IG).

    3. Turn the GTS on.

    4. Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Combination Meter / Active Test.

    5. Perform the Active Test according to the display on the GTS.

  2. READ VALUE USING GTS (-SET SWITCH)


    1. Turn the cruise control system on using the cruise control main switch (ON/OFF button).

    2. Drive at a speed between approximately 0 km/h (0 mph) and 180 km/h (110 mph).

    3. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Cruise Control / Data List.

    4. Read the Data List according to the display on the GTS.
