METER / GAUGE SYSTEM Meter Illumination is Always Dark

DESCRIPTION

The combination meter assembly receives signals from this circuit to adjust the illumination of the combination meter assembly. The combination meter assembly sets the illumination level based on the user operation of the light control rheostat switch in the trip switch.

Tech Tips


  • The meter illumination level can be adjusted by operating the light control rheostat switch.

  • The meter illumination dims when the headlight dimmer switch assembly is turned to the tail, head, or AUTO position.

  • Setting the meter illumination to maximum brightness cancels the above dimming of the meter illumination.

Tech Tips


  • The meter illumination level can be adjusted by operating the light control rheostat switch.

  • Setting the meter illumination to minimum brightness (very dim) turns off the meter illumination when the headlight dimmer switch assembly is turned to the tail, head, or AUTO position.

  • Before starting the following inspection, check if lighting system DTCs are output Click here.

  1. CHECK CAN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM


    1. Check if CAN communication DTCs are output (See page w/ Central Gateway ECU, Click here w/o Central Gateway ECU).

  2. READ VALUE USING GTS (ILLUMINATION RATE INFO)


    1. Connect the GTS to the DLC3.

    2. Turn the engine switch on (IG).

    3. Turn the GTS on.

    4. Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Main Body / Data List.

    5. Read the Data List according to the display on the GTS.
