DESCRIPTION

This DTC is stored when the combination meter assembly detects a fuel sender gauge malfunction via a direct line.

When IG voltage is 9.5 V or more and the following condition is detected:


  • Average input signal of fuel sender gauge is 528 Ω or more 3 times consecutively


  • Harness or connector

  • Fuel sender gauge assembly

  • Fuel suction tube with pump and gauge assembly

  • Combination meter assembly

PROCEDURE


  1. READ VALUE USING GTS (FUEL INPUT)


    1. Connect the GTS to the DLC3.

    2. Turn the engine switch on (IG).

    3. Turn the GTS on.

    4. Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Combination Meter / Data List.

    5. Read the Data List according to the display on the GTS.

  2. INSPECT FUEL SENDER GAUGE ASSEMBLY

      Disconnect the H14 combination meter assembly connector.

    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

  3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY - FUEL SUCTION TUBE WITH PUMP AND GAUGE ASSEMBLY)


    1. Disconnect the P7 fuel suction tube with pump and gauge assembly connector.

    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      H14-27 (FR) - P7-2 (FS) Always Below 1 Ω
      H14-27 (FR) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      H14-28 (FE) - P7-3 (FE) Always Below 1 Ω
      H14-28 (FE) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

  4. INSPECT FUEL SENDER GAUGE ASSEMBLY


    1. Remove the fuel sender gauge assembly (See page for 2AR-FE, for 2GR-FE, Click here for 6AR-FSE).

    2. Inspect the fuel sender gauge assembly (See page for 2AR-FE, for 2GR-FE, Click here for 6AR-FSE).

  5. CHECK CONNECTOR


    1. Visually check for deformation on the fuel suction tube with pump and gauge assembly connector.
