LIGHTING SYSTEM Engine Switch Illumination Circuit

DESCRIPTION

The illuminated entry system controls the engine switch illumination.

PROCEDURE


  1. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING GTS


    1. Connect the GTS to the DLC3.

    2. Turn the engine switch on (IG).

    3. Turn the GTS on.

    4. Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Entry&Start / Active Test.

    5. Check that the illumination operates.

      When performing this Active Test, make sure the following condition is met:

      The engine switch illumination is off (15 seconds or more have elapsed since it turned from on to off) and the engine switch is on (ACC) or on (IG), or the engine is running.

      OK
      Engine switch illumination comes on.

  2. INSPECT ENGINE SWITCH


    1. Remove the engine switch (See page for 2AR-FE, for 2GR-FE, Click here for 6AR-FSE).

    2. Inspect the engine switch (See page for 2AR-FE, for 2GR-FE, Click here for 6AR-FSE).

      Engine switch illumination comes on.

  3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (ENGINE SWITCH - CERTIFICATION ECU (SMART KEY ECU ASSEMBLY))


    1. Disconnect the H56 certification ECU (smart key ECU assembly) connector.

    2. Disconnect the H44 engine switch connector.

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      H44-9 (SWIL) - H56-16 (SWIL) Always Below 1 Ω
      H44-6 (AGND) - H56-24 (AGND) Always Below 1 Ω
      H44-9 (SWIL) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      H44-6 (AGND) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
