LIGHTING SYSTEM OPERATION CHECK


  1. INSPECT INTERIOR LIGHT CONTROL OPERATION

    Note

    Perform this inspection with the customize parameters at the initial settings.

    The interior light control illuminates the lights below.


    • Engine Switch Illumination

    • Roof Console Box Assembly (Front Interior Light)

    • Spot Light Assembly (Rear Interior Light)


    1. The operations and conditions of this control are described below.

      Operation Condition
      Fade in and illuminate constantly Any door is opened when all doors are closed.
      Illuminate for 15 seconds, and then fade out

      When any of the following conditions is met, the interior lights illuminate for 15 seconds, and then fade out:


      • The key enters any actuation area around the doors when the engine switch is off and all doors are closed*1.

      • Any door is unlocked when the engine switch is off with all doors closed and locked.

      • The engine switch is turned from on (IG) to off when all doors are closed.

      • All doors are closed after any door is opened and the engine switch is turned off.

      Fade out immediately

      When any of the following conditions is met, the interior lights fade out immediately:


      • The engine switch is turned from off to on (ACC) when all doors are closed.

      • All doors are locked when the engine switch is off, all doors are closed and any door is unlocked.

      • All doors are locked again when all doors are already closed and locked.


      • *1: When the lights are on, if the key leaves all of the actuation areas around the doors, after approximately 3 seconds, the lights fade out.

  2. INSPECT FOOTWELL LIGHT CONTROL OPERATION

    Note

    Perform this inspection with the customize parameters at the initial settings.

    Tech Tips


    • The footwell lights turn off when the illumination is turned to the minimum level using the rheostat knob with the engine switch on (IG) and the taillights on.

    The footwell light control illuminates the lights below.


    • No. 1 Interior Illumination Light Assembly (Front Footwell Lights)

    • No. 1 Interior Illumination Light Assembly (Rear Footwell Lights)*1


    1. The operations and conditions of this control are described below.

      Operation Condition
      Fade in and illuminate constantly

      When either of the following conditions is met, the footwell lights fade in:


      • Any door is opened when all doors are closed.

      • The engine switch is turned from off to on (IG).

      Illuminate for 15 seconds, and then fade out

      When any of the following conditions is met, the footwell lights illuminate for 15 seconds and then fade out:


      • Any door is unlocked when the engine switch is off, all doors are closed and all doors are locked.

      • The engine switch is turned from on (IG) to off when all doors are closed.

      • All doors are closed when any door is opened and the engine switch is off.

      Fade out immediately All doors are locked when the engine switch is off, all doors are closed and any door is unlocked.
      Dim The engine switch is on (IG) and the shift lever is moved out of P.

  3. INSPECT AMBIENT LIGHT CONTROL OPERATION

    Note

    Perform this inspection with the customize parameters at the initial settings.

    Tech Tips


    • The illumination level of the ambient lights can be controlled when the rheostat knob is operated with the engine switch on (IG) and the taillights on.

    • The ambient lights turn off when the illumination is turned to the minimum level using the rheostat knob with the engine switch on (IG) and the taillights on.

    The ambient light control illuminates the lights below.


    • Front Door Trim Board Sub-assembly (Front Door Ambient Lights)

    • Rear Door Trim Board Sub-assembly (Rear Door Ambient Lights)

    • Interior Illumination Light Sub-assembly (Instrument Panel Ambient Light)

      • The engine switch is turned from off to on (IG).

      • Any door is unlocked when the engine switch is off, all doors are closed and all doors are locked.

      • The engine switch is turned from on (IG) to off when all doors are closed.

      • All doors are closed when any door is opened and the engine switch is off.

      Fade out immediately All doors are locked when the engine switch is off, all doors are closed and any door is unlocked.
      Dim The engine switch is on (IG) and the shift lever is moved out of P.
  4. BATTERY SAVING CONTROL OPERATION

    Note

    Perform this inspection with the customize parameters at the initial settings.

    The lights controlled by battery saving control are as follows:


    • Engine Switch Illumination

    • Roof Console Box Assembly (Front Personal Lights)

    • Roof Console Box Assembly (Front Interior Light)

    • Spot Light Assembly (Rear Personal Lights)

    • Spot Light Assembly (Rear Interior Light)

    • No. 1 Luggage Compartment Light Assembly

    • Courtesy Light Assembly

    • No. 1 Interior Illumination Light Assembly (Front Footwell Lights)

    • No. 1 Interior Illumination Light Assembly (Rear Footwell Lights)*1

    • Front Door Trim Board Sub-assembly (Front Door Ambient Lights)*2

    • Rear Door Trim Board Sub-assembly (Rear Door Ambient Lights)*2

    • Interior Illumination Light Sub-assembly (Instrument Panel Ambient Light)*2


    1. The operation and conditions of this control are described below.

      Operation Condition
      Battery saving

      When 20 minutes elapse after the engine switch is turned from on (ACC or IG) to off and the lights that operate remain on, the lights are turned off.

      Tech Tips

      Battery saving control is canceled when any of the following operations is performed before the lights are turned off by battery saving control. After the operation is performed, the lights remain on for another 20 minutes and then the lights are turned off.


      • The engine switch is turned on (ACC or IG)

      • Any door is opened and closed

      • The luggage compartment door is opened and closed

      • Any door is unlocked

      • The key enters any exterior actuation area
