DESCRIPTION

The ECM communicates with the battery state sensor assembly via LIN communication. If a LIN communication error is detected, the ECM stores this DTC.

PROCEDURE


  1. CHECK BATTERY STATE SENSOR ASSEMBLY INSTALLATION CONDITION


    1. Check installation condition of the battery state sensor assembly. Click here

  2. CHECK CHARGING SYSTEM


    1. Check the charging system. Click here


    NG
    OK
  3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (ECM - BATTERY STATE SENSOR ASSEMBLY)


    1. Disconnect the D87 ECM connector.

    2. Disconnect the D97 battery state sensor assembly connector.

    3. Disconnect the D90 generator assembly connector.

    4. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance (Check for Open)
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      D97-2 (LIN) - D87-61 (LIN) Always Below 1 Ω
      Standard Resistance (Check for Short)
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      D97-2 (LIN), D90-2 (LIN) or D87-61 (LIN) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

  4. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (POWER SOURCE CIRCUIT)


    1. Check that the battery state sensor assembly connector is securely connected.

      OK
      The connector is securely connected.

      Disconnect the D97 battery state sensor assembly connector.

    3. Check the connector case and terminals for deformation or corrosion.

      OK
      No deformation or corrosion.
    4. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      D97-1 (+B) - Body ground Always 11 to 14 V

  5. CLEAR DTCS


    1. Connect the GTS to the DLC3.

    2. Turn the engine switch on (IG).

    3. Turn the GTS on.

    4. Check for DTCs, and note down any DTCs that are output.

    5. Clear the DTCs. Click here

    6. Turn the engine switch off, wait 30 seconds.

  6. CHECK FOR DTCS


    1. Connect the GTS to the DLC3.

    2. Start the engine.

    3. Allow the engine to idle for approximately 17 minutes or more.

    4. Turn the GTS on.

    5. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Engine / Trouble Codes.

    6. Check for DTCs. Click here
