STOP AND START SYSTEM Stop and Start Cancel Switch Circuit

DESCRIPTION

Stop and start system control can be disabled by pressing the stop and start cancel switch assembly. The stop and start cancel system switch is a momentary-type switch that switches between on and off when the switch is pressed. While stop and start system control is disabled, the stop and start cancel indicator is illuminated to inform the driver.

PROCEDURE


  1. READ VALUE USING GTS (CANCEL SWITCH)


    1. Connect the GTS to the DLC3.

    2. Turn the engine switch on (IG).

    3. Turn the GTS on.

    4. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Stop and Start / Data List / Cancel Switch.

    5. Read the value when the stop and start cancel switch is pressed.

      OK
      GTS Display Condition Normal Condition
      Cancel Switch Stop and start cancel switch assembly is pressed ON
      Stop and start cancel switch assembly is not pressed OFF

  2. INSPECT STOP AND START CANCEL SWITCH (INTEGRATION CONTROL AND PANEL ASSEMBLY)


    1. Inspect the stop and start cancel switch (integration control and panel assembly) Click here.

  3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (STOP AND START CANCEL SWITCH ASSEMBLY - BODY GROUND)


    1. Disconnect the H71 stop and start cancel switch (integration control and panel assembly) connector.

    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      H71-5 (E) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω

  4. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (ENGINE STOP AND START ECU - STOP AND START CANCEL SWITCH)


    1. Disconnect the H71 stop and start cancel system switch (integration control and panel assembly) connector.

    2. Disconnect the H191 engine stop and start ECU connector.

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      H191-5 (ECAN) - H71-1 (ECU) Always Below 1 Ω
      H191-5 (ECAN) or H71-1 (ECU) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
