If the following conditions are detected while the cruise control system is controlling vehicle speed, the system clears the vehicle speed stored in the ECM and cancels cruise control system control of vehicle speed.

Vehicle Condition Auto Cancel Condition Re-operation Condition

  • Cruise control indicator goes out

  • A warning message "Cruise Control Malfunction Visit Your Dealer" is displayed

  • "Pong" warning sound is heard

Open or short in stop light switch circuit Cruise control system is turned off and back on again using the cruise control main switch (ON/OFF button).

  • Problem with stop light switch input circuit

  • Problem with cruise control switch cancel circuit

Engine switch is turned off and back to on (IG) again.
Cruise control indicator remains illuminated (Cruise control system control of vehicle speed is canceled)
  • Vehicle speed is lower than low speed limit (approx. 40 km/h (or 25 mph)) while driving with cruise control system controlling vehicle speed

  • VSC is performed while driving with cruise control system controlling vehicle speed

Cruise control main switch is pushed to +/RES
Vehicle speed is lower than stored speed by approximately 16 km/h (or 10 mph) or more Cruise control main switch is pushed to -/SET
Cruise control indicator goes out Problem with throttle position sensor or motor Cruise control system is turned off and back on again using the cruise control main switch (ON/OFF button).
