EXHAUST PIPE INSTALLATION

PROCEDURE


  1. INSTALL HEATED OXYGEN SENSOR (for Bank 2)

  2. INSTALL HEATED OXYGEN SENSOR (for Bank 1)

  3. INSTALL FRONT EXHAUST PIPE ASSEMBLY


    1. Install 2 new gaskets to the front exhaust pipe assembly.

    2. Connect the front exhaust pipe assembly to the No. 1 exhaust pipe support bracket (for Rear Side).

    3. Install the front exhaust pipe assembly to the exhaust manifold sub-assembly RH and exhaust manifold sub-assembly LH with the 2 bolts and 2 nuts.

      Torque:
      55 N*m  { 561 kgf*cm, 41 ft.*lbf }

    4. Connect the 2 heated oxygen sensor connectors.

    5. Install the 2 wire harnesses to the clamp.

  4. INSTALL NO. 1 EXHAUST PIPE SUPPORT BRACKET (for Front Side)


    1. Install the No. 1 exhaust pipe support bracket (for Front Side) to the vehicle body with the 2 nuts.

      Torque:
      33 N*m  { 337 kgf*cm, 24 ft.*lbf }

  5. INSTALL ENGINE UNDER COVER RH

  6. INSTALL FRONT WHEEL OPENING EXTENSION PAD RH

  7. INSTALL CENTER EXHAUST PIPE ASSEMBLY


    1. Install a new gasket to the front exhaust pipe assembly.

    2. Connect the center exhaust pipe assembly to the 2 exhaust pipe supports.

    3. Install the center exhaust pipe assembly to the front exhaust pipe assembly with the 2 bolts and 2 nuts.

      Torque:
      49 N*m  { 500 kgf*cm, 36 ft.*lbf }

  8. INSTALL EXHAUST PIPE DAMPER


    1. Install the exhaust pipe damper to the center exhaust pipe assembly with the 2 bolts.

      Torque:
      19 N*m  { 194 kgf*cm, 14 ft.*lbf }

  9. INSTALL TAIL EXHAUST PIPE ASSEMBLY


    1. Install a new gasket to the center exhaust pipe assembly.

    2. Connect the tail exhaust pipe assembly to the 3 exhaust pipe supports.

    3. Install the tail exhaust pipe assembly to the center exhaust pipe assembly with the 2 nuts.

      Torque:
      43 N*m  { 438 kgf*cm, 32 ft.*lbf }

  10. INSTALL TAIL EXHAUST PIPE LH


    1. Install a new gasket to the center exhaust pipe assembly.

    2. Connect the tail exhaust pipe assembly LH to the 2 exhaust pipe supports.

    3. Install the tail exhaust pipe assembly LH to the center exhaust pipe assembly with the 2 nuts.

      Torque:
      43 N*m  { 438 kgf*cm, 32 ft.*lbf }

  11. INSTALL TAIL EXHAUST PIPE BAFFLE SUB-ASSEMBLY (w/ Tail Exhaust Pipe Baffle)

    Note

    Protect the rear bumper assembly using protection material such as a piece of cloth to avoid damage by the tail exhaust pipe baffle sub-assembly.

    Tech Tips

    Use the same procedure for the tail exhaust pipe assembly side.


    1. Install the tail exhaust pipe baffle sub-assembly to the tail exhaust pipe LH with the 2 nuts.

      Torque:
      19 N*m  { 194 kgf*cm, 14 ft.*lbf }

  12. INSPECT FOR EXHAUST GAS LEAK
