EXHAUST PIPE REMOVAL

PROCEDURE


  1. REMOVE TAIL EXHAUST PIPE BAFFLE SUB-ASSEMBLY (w/ Tail Exhaust Pipe Baffle)

    Note

    Protect the rear bumper assembly using protection material such as a piece of cloth to avoid damage by the tail exhaust pipe baffle sub-assembly.

    Tech Tips

    Use the same procedure for the tail exhaust pipe assembly side.

      Remove the 2 nuts and tail exhaust pipe baffle sub-assembly from the tail exhaust pipe LH.

  2. REMOVE TAIL EXHAUST PIPE LH

      Remove the 2 nuts and disconnect the tail exhaust pipe LH from the center exhaust pipe assembly.

    2. Remove the tail exhaust pipe LH from the 2 exhaust pipe supports.

    3. Remove the gasket from the center exhaust pipe assembly.

  3. REMOVE TAIL EXHAUST PIPE ASSEMBLY

      Remove the 2 nuts and disconnect the tail exhaust pipe assembly from the center exhaust pipe assembly.

    2. Remove the tail exhaust pipe assembly from the 3 exhaust pipe supports.

    3. Remove the gasket from the center exhaust pipe assembly.

  4. REMOVE EXHAUST PIPE DAMPER

      Remove the 2 bolts and exhaust pipe damper from the center exhaust pipe assembly.

  5. REMOVE CENTER EXHAUST PIPE ASSEMBLY

      Remove the 2 bolts and 2 nuts and disconnect the center exhaust pipe assembly from the front exhaust pipe assembly.

    2. Remove the center exhaust pipe assembly from the 2 exhaust pipe supports.

    3. Remove the gasket from the front exhaust pipe assembly.

  6. REMOVE FRONT WHEEL OPENING EXTENSION PAD RH

  7. REMOVE ENGINE UNDER COVER RH

  8. REMOVE NO. 1 EXHAUST PIPE SUPPORT BRACKET (for Front Side)

      Remove the 2 nuts and No. 1 exhaust pipe support bracket (for Front Side) from the vehicle body.

  9. REMOVE FRONT EXHAUST PIPE ASSEMBLY

      Disconnect the 2 wire harnesses from the clamp.

    2. Disconnect the 2 heated oxygen sensor connectors.

      Remove the 2 bolts and 2 nuts and disconnect the front exhaust pipe assembly from the exhaust manifold sub-assembly RH and exhaust manifold sub-assembly LH.

    4. Remove the front exhaust pipe assembly from the No. 1 exhaust pipe support bracket (for Rear Side).

    5. Remove the 2 gaskets from the front exhaust pipe assembly.

  10. REMOVE HEATED OXYGEN SENSOR (for Bank 1)
