MASS AIR FLOW METER ON-VEHICLE INSPECTION

PROCEDURE


  1. INSPECT MASS AIR FLOW METER SUB-ASSEMBLY

    Tech Tips

    Perform "Inspection After Repair" after replacing the mass air flow meter sub-assembly Click here.


    1. Read the value using the GTS (Mass Air Flow Sensor).

      Note

      Perform the inspection of the mass air flow meter sub-assembly while it is installed to the air cleaner cap sub-assembly (installed to the vehicle).


      1. Connect the GTS to the DLC3.

      2. Start the engine.

      3. Turn the GTS on.

      4. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Engine / Data List / Mass Air Flow Sensor.

      5. Wait for 30 seconds, and read the value on the GTS.

        Standard Condition
        GTS Display Condition Specified Condition
        Mass Air Flow Sensor

        Idling

        (After the engine warms up)

        1.0 to 4.0 gm/sec

        2000 rpm

        (After the engine warms up)

        4.1 to 8.1 gm/sec

        3000 rpm

        (After the engine warms up)

        6.2 to 11.2 gm/sec

        If the result is not as specified, replace the mass air flow meter sub-assembly.

  2. PERFORM INITIALIZATION
