When the front bumper is damaged or deformed due to an accident or contact with other objects, etc., or the bumper installation area on the body is repaired, it is necessary to perform millimeter wave radar sensor adjustment.

PROCEDURE


  1. REMOVE COOL AIR INTAKE DUCT SEAL

      Remove the 9 clips and cool air intake duct seal.

  2. REMOVE CENTER HOOD CUSHION

      Remove the 2 center hood cushions.

  3. REMOVE FRONT BUMPER ASSEMBLY

      Apply protective tape around the front bumper assembly as shown in the illustration.

      Tech Tips

      Use the same procedure for the RH side and LH side.

      *1 Pin Hold Clip
      *a 90°

      Using a screwdriver, turn the pin 90 degrees and remove the pin hold clip.

      Use the same procedure for the RH side and LH side.

    3. Remove the clip.

      *1 Front Bumper Seal Bracket

      Remove the screw and front bumper seal bracket.

      Note

      Do not pull the front bumper assembly until the front bumper seal bracket is removed, or the front bumper assembly may be damaged.

      Tech Tips

      Use the same procedure for the RH side and LH side.

      Remove the 6 screws.

      Disengage the 3 claws (A) in the direction indicated by the arrow (1) shown in the illustration.

      Tech Tips

      Use the same procedure for the RH side and LH side.

    7. Disengage the claw (B) and claw (C) in the direction indicated by the arrow (2) shown in the illustration.

      Tech Tips

      Use the same procedure for the RH side and LH side.

    8. Pull back the side of the front bumper assembly and disconnect 2 fog light connectors.

      Note

      Do not apply excessive force when pulling back the front bumper assembly.

    9. w/ LEXUS Parking Assist-sensor System:


      1. Pull back the side of the front bumper assembly and disconnect No. 4 engine room wire connector.

        Note

        Do not apply excessive force when pulling back the front bumper assembly.

    10. w/ Pre-crash Safety System:


      1. Disconnect the millimeter wave radar sensor assembly connector.

      Remove the bolt and front bumper assembly.
