Tech Tips


  • Use the same procedure for the RH side and LH side.

  • The following procedure is for the LH side.

PROCEDURE


  1. INSTALL HEADLIGHT SWIVEL MOTOR

      Install the attachment.

    2. A01W2BJ

      Insert the headlight swivel motor as shown in the illustration to engage the gears.

    3. Install the headlight swivel motor to the unit assembly A with the screw.

      Push the unit assembly A into the 2 aiming screws from the front, and turn the 2 aiming screws clockwise.

    5. Turn the 2 aiming screws so that dimensions A and B are the same as measured before in removal.

      Engage the 2 claws.

    7. Connect the 2 connectors.

      Install the reflector with the 2 screws.

  2. INSTALL LIGHT CONTROL ECU (for LED Headlight)

      Install the light control ECU to the headlight unit with the 2 screws.

    2. Connect the connector.

  3. INSTALL LIGHT CONTROL ECU

      Install the light control ECU to the headlight unit with the 2 screws.

    2. Connect the connector.

  4. INSTALL HEADLIGHT UNIT

      Install the headlight unit.

    2. A01W3FP

      Install the protector to the headlight lens with the 7 screws.

    3. Engage the clamp.

  5. INSTALL HEADLIGHT LENS GASKET


    1. Completely remove the old headlight lens gasket.

      *b Tape

      Partially remove the release paper from a new headlight lens gasket, and cut off a piece of it.

    3. Fold the release paper over the tip of a screwdriver and secure it with tape.

      Tech Tips

      Use the release paper that is supplied with the headlight lens gasket.

    4. Using scissors, cut the end of the headlight lens gasket at an angle (45°).

      Set the headlight lens gasket into the groove so that the ends of the gasket are aligned with the bottom of the housing, as shown in the illustration.

      a 10 mm (0.394 in.) or more

    6. Using the screwdriver, completely press the headlight lens gasket into the housing to install it.

    7. After pressing the headlight lens gasket completely, check that the ends overlap for 10 mm (0.394 in.) or more.

      Tech Tips

      Place the headlight lens gasket along the outside surface and press it in with the screwdriver to roll it into place. Then, set the headlight lens gasket at the center of the groove.

  6. INSTALL HEADLIGHT LENS

      Connect the connector.

    2. A01VZUN

      Engage the 6 claws to temporarily install the headlight lens to the housing.

      Note


      • Check that all of the claws are engaged.

      • Wear rubber gloves when handling the headlight lens.

      • Do not touch the lens or the aluminum surfaces with bare hands.

      • If there are fingerprints on the aluminum surfaces, wipe them off with a soft cloth.

      • If there are fingerprints on the inner side of the headlight lens, replace the headlight lens.

      • Do not allow dirt or foreign matter to get on the inner side of the headlight lens.

      Install the 3 screws.

      Using a T20H "TORX" driver, install the "TORX" screw.

    5. Install the headlight lens with the 5 screws.

  7. INSTALL HEADLIGHT BULB (for Halogen Headlight)

      Turn the headlight bulb as shown in the illustration to install it.

      Note

      Do not touch the bulb glass.

      Connect the connector.

  8. INSTALL HEADLIGHT COVER (for Halogen Headlight)

      Turn the headlight cover as shown in the illustration to install it.

  9. INSTALL HEADLIGHT CORD

      Engage the claw and 3 clamps to install the headlight cord to the headlight assembly.

  10. INSTALL FRONT TURN SIGNAL LIGHT BULB


    1. Install the front turn signal light bulb to the headlight cord.

      Turn the headlight cord with the front turn signal light bulb in the direction indicated by the arrow in the illustration to connect it.

  11. INSTALL FRONT SIDE MARKER LIGHT BULB (w/ Side Marker Light)


    1. Install the front side marker light bulb to the headlight cord.

      Turn the headlight cord with the front side marker light bulb in the direction indicated by the arrow in the illustration to connect it.
