TIRE PRESSURE WARNING SYSTEM TEST MODE PROCEDURE

Note:

Perform test mode with the vehicle stopped.

Tip:

  • Operation of the tire pressure warning reset switch can be checked in test mode (signal check mode).

  • During test mode (signal check mode), the system will not be initialized by pushing the tire pressure warning reset switch. The circuit of the tire pressure warning reset switch can be inspected during this mode.

  1. TEST MODE (SIGNAL CHECK MODE) PROCEDURE (USING GTS)

    1. Procedure to enter test mode

      1. Turn the ignition switch off.

      2. Connect the GTS to the DLC3.

      3. Turn the ignition switch to ON and the GTS on.

      4. Enter the following menus: Chassis / ABS/VSC/TRC / Utility / Signal Check.

        Chassis > ABS/VSC/TRC > Utility

        Check that the ABS warning, tire pressure warning and slip indicator lights illuminate for several seconds and then blink at 0.125 second intervals (test mode pattern). The TRC OFF indicator light illuminates during test mode.

    2. Tire Pressure Warning Reset Switch Check

      1. Press the tire pressure warning reset switch and check that the tire pressure warning light illuminates for 3 seconds.

      2. Result

        Tip:

        After the signal check is completed, confirm the system status.

        Inspect the tire pressure warning reset switch circuit and enter Signal Check again

    3. End of test mode (signal check mode)

      1. After completing test mode (signal check mode), turn the ignition switch off and disconnect the GTS.

  2. TEST MODE (SIGNAL CHECK MODE) PROCEDURE (USING SST CHECK WIRE)

    1. Procedure to enter test mode

      1. Turn the ignition switch off.

        Using SST, connect terminals 12 (TS) and 4 (CG) of the DLC3.

      3. Turn the ignition switch to ON.

        Check that the ABS warning, tire pressure warning and slip indicator lights illuminate for several seconds and then blink at 0.125 second intervals (test mode pattern). The TRC OFF indicator light illuminates during test mode.

        Tip:

        If the tire pressure warning light does not blink in the test mode pattern, inspect the TS and CG terminal circuit.

    2. Tire Pressure Warning Reset Switch Check

      1. Press the tire pressure warning reset switch and check that the tire pressure warning light illuminates for 3 seconds.

      2. Result

        Tip:

        After the signal check is completed, confirm the system status.
