Use the following procedure to troubleshoot the side monitor system.
*: Use the intelligent tester.

INSPECT BATTERY VOLTAGE
Measure the voltage with the engine switch off.
Standard voltage
11 to 14 V
If the voltage is below 11 V, replace or recharge the battery before proceeding to the next step.

CHECK COMMUNICATION FUNCTION OF CAN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM*
Use the intelligent tester to check if the CAN communication system is functioning normally.

CHECK COMMUNICATION FUNCTION OF LIN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM*
Use the intelligent tester to check if the LIN communication system is functioning normally.

CHECK FOR DTC*
Check for DTCs and note any codes that are output.
Clear the DTC.
Check for DTCs. Try to prompt the DTC by simulating the original activity that the DTC suggests.
Note:The parking assist ECU may store the DTCs of the following system. If DTCs other than those specified in Diagnostic Trouble Code Chart of the side monitor system are output, refer to Diagnostic Trouble Code Chart for the applicable system.
