DESCRIPTION

The radio and display receiver assembly and parking assist ECU are connected via AVC-LAN communication line.

This DTC is stored when an AVC-LAN communication error occurs between the radio and display receiver assembly and parking assist ECU.

When either of the following conditions is met:


  • The parking assist ECU is/was not connected while the power switch is/was on (ACC) or on (IG)

  • Communication between the master unit and the parking assist ECU is not possible when the engine is started


  • Parking assist ECU power source circuit

  • AVC-LAN circuit between the radio and display receiver assembly and parking assist ECU

  • Parking assist ECU

  • Radio and display receiver assembly

  • Harness or connector

The radio and display receiver assembly is the master unit.

  1. CHECK OPTIONAL COMPONENTS (INCLUDING ASSOCIATED WIRING)


    1. Check that optional components (including associated wiring) which generate radio waves are not installed.

      Tech Tips


      • Electrical noise from radio waves generated by optional components or the wiring for those components may affect AVC-LAN communication.

      • This DTC may be stored when an AVC-LAN communication error occurs due to electrical noise.

  2. REMOVE OPTIONAL COMPONENTS (INCLUDING ASSOCIATED WIRING)


    1. Remove optional components (including associated wiring).

      Note

      Do not remove optional components or associated wiring without the permission of the customer.

    1. Clear the DTCs Click here.

    2. Recheck for DTCs and check that no DTCs are output.

  4. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (PARKING ASSIST ECU POWER SOURCE)


    1. Disconnect the L64 parking assist ECU connector.

    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      L64-4 (GND1) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω
    3. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      L64-1 (B+) - L64-4 (GND1) Power switch off 11 to 14 V
      L64-8 (IG) - L64-4 (GND1) Power switch on (IG) 11 to 14 V

  5. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (PARKING ASSIST ECU - RADIO AND DISPLAY RECEIVER ASSEMBLY)


    1. Disconnect the L64 parking assist ECU connector.

    2. Disconnect the L169 radio and display receiver assembly connector.

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      L64-11 (TX+) - L169-7 (TX3+) Always Below 1 Ω
      L64-10 (TX-) - L169-8 (TX3-) Always Below 1 Ω
      L64-11 (TX+) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      L64-10 (TX-) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

  6. REPLACE PARKING ASSIST ECU


    1. Replace the parking assist ECU with a new or known good one Click here.

    2. Clear the DTCs Click here.

    3. Recheck for DTCs and check that no DTCs are output.
