Note


  • When using the GTS with the engine switch off, connect the GTS to the DLC3 and turn a courtesy light switch on and off at intervals of 1.5 seconds or less until communication between the GTS and the vehicle begins. Then select the vehicle type under manual mode and enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Entry&Start(CAN). While using the GTS, periodically turn a courtesy light switch on and off at intervals of 1.5 seconds or less to maintain communication between the GTS and the vehicle.

  • Before replacing the certification ECU (smart key ECU assembly) or main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU), refer to Service Bulletin.

PROCEDURE


  1. CHECK FOR DTC


    1. Check for DTCs.


      Body Electrical > Entry&Start > Trouble Codes
      OK
      DTCs are not output.

  2. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING GTS (IMMOBILISER INDICATOR)


    1. Connect the GTS to the DLC3.

    2. Turn the engine switch on (IG).

    3. Turn the GTS on.

    4. Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Entry&Start / Active Test.

    5. Perform the Active Test according to the display on the GTS.

  3. CHECK SECURITY INDICATOR LIGHT (CLOCK ASSEMBLY)


    1. When the immobiliser is set, check that the security indicator light (clock assembly) blinks.*1

      The security indicator light (clock assembly) blinks normally.
    2. When the theft deterrent system is in the arming preparation state, check that the security indicator light (clock assembly) illuminates.*2

      The security indicator light (clock assembly) illuminates normally.

  4. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (CERTIFICATION ECU (SMART KEY ECU ASSEMBLY) - SECURITY INDICATOR LIGHT (CLOCK ASSEMBLY))


    1. Disconnect the F1 certification ECU (smart key ECU assembly) connector.

    2. Disconnect the F81 security indicator light (clock assembly) connector.

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

  5. CHECK CERTIFICATION ECU (SMART KEY ECU ASSEMBLY)


    1. Reconnect the F1 certification ECU (smart key ECU assembly) connector.

    2. Reconnect the F81 security indicator light (clock assembly) connector.

    3. Using an oscilloscope, check the waveform.
