INPUT SHAFT REASSEMBLY

PROCEDURE

1. INSTALL FRONT INPUT SHAFT BEARING

   1. 

      Using SST and press, press in the front input shaft bearing into the input shaft.

2. INSTALL INPUT SHAFT SNAP RING

   1. 

      Using a brass bar and hammer, tap a new input shaft snap ring onto the input shaft.

3. INSTALL 4TH GEAR

   1. 

      Using SST and a press, press in the 4th gear into the input shaft.

4. INSTALL 3RD GEAR

   1. 

      Install the spacer into the input shaft.

   2. 

      Using SST and press, press in the 3rd gear into the input shaft.

5. INSTALL 6TH GEAR SUB-ASSEMBLY

   1. 

      Using SST and press, press in the 6th gear sub-assembly into the input shaft.

6. INSTALL REAR INPUT SHAFT RADIAL BALL BEARING

   1. 

      Using SST and press, press in the rear input shaft radial ball bearing into the input shaft.

7. INSTALL REAR INPUT SHAFT BEARING SHAFT SNAP RING

      Select a new rear input shaft bearing shaft snap ring, using the table below, that makes the thrust clearance of the input shaft bearing less than 0.1 mm (0.00394 in.).

      Using a snap ring expander, install the rear input shaft bearing shaft snap ring into the input shaft.
