PROCEDURE


  1. READ VALUE USING GTS


    1. Connect the GTS to the DLC3.

    2. Turn the engine switch on (IG).

    3. Turn the GTS on.

    4. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Cruise Control / Data List.

    5. Read the Data List according to the display on the GTS.


      Powertrain > Cruise Control > Data List
      Tester Display Measurement Item Range Normal Condition Diagnostic Note
      Cancel Switch CANCEL switch signal ON or OFF

      ON: CANCEL switch on

      OFF: CANCEL switch off

      -SET Switch -SET switch signal ON or OFF

      ON: -SET switch on

      +RES Switch +RES switch signal ON or OFF

      ON: +RES switch on

      OFF: +RES switch off

      Cruise Ready Main-CPU Cruise control system standby condition (Main-CPU) ON or OFF

      ON: Cruise control main switch (Main-CPU) SET

      OFF: Cruise control main switch (Main-CPU) UNSET

      Cancel Switch
      -SET Switch
      +RES Switch
      Cruise Ready Main-CPU

      When the cruise control main switch is operated, the display changes as shown above.

  2. INSPECT CRUISE CONTROL MAIN SWITCH


    1. Remove the cruise control main switch.

  3. INSPECT CRUISE CONTROL SWITCH WIRE

      Disconnect the spiral with sensor cable sub-assembly connector.

    2. Disconnect the cruise control main switch connector.

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      z8-3 (CCS) - A-3 (CCS) Always Below 1 Ω
      z8-4 (ECC) - A-1 (ECC) Always Below 1 Ω
      z8-3 (CCS) or A-3 (CCS) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      z8-4 (ECC) or A-1 (ECC) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

  4. INSPECT SPIRAL WITH SENSOR CABLE SUB-ASSEMBLY


    1. Remove the spiral with sensor cable sub-assembly.

  5. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (SPIRAL WITH SENSOR CABLE SUB-ASSEMBLY - ECM)


    1. Disconnect the I4 spiral with sensor cable sub-assembly connector.

    2. Disconnect the A35 ECM connector.

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      I4-1 (CCS) - A35-55 (CCS) Always Below 1 Ω
      I4-2 (ECC) - A35-41 (ECCS) Always Below 1 Ω
      I4-1 (CCS) or A35-55 (CCS) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω
      I4-2 (ECC) or A35-41 (ECCS) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
