LIGHTING SYSTEM FAIL-SAFE CHART

  1. LED HEADLIGHT SYSTEM (for LED Headlight)

The headlight leveling ECU assembly stops headlight operation when the following malfunctions are detected.

    Condition Description
    Output Open Circuit Malfunction
    • Headlight illumination stops.

    • Current condition is maintained until power supply is reinstated (headlight dimmer switch turned from off to head).

Short Circuit Malfunction Between Output Terminals
    • Headlight illumination stops.

    • Current condition is maintained until power supply is reinstated (headlight dimmer switch turned from off to head).

Output Terminal - Ground Leak Malfunction
    • Headlight illumination stops.

    • Current condition is maintained until power supply is reinstated (headlight dimmer switch turned from off to head).

    Output Undervoltage Malfunction
    • When output undervoltage occurs, headlight illumination stops.

    • Current condition is maintained until power supply is reinstated (headlight dimmer switch turned from off to head).

    Output Overvoltage Malfunction
    • When output overvoltage occurs, headlight illumination stops.

    • Current condition is maintained until power supply is reinstated (headlight dimmer switch turned from off to head).

    Input Overvoltage Malfunction
    • When input overvoltage occurs (20 +/-3 V or higher), headlight illumination stops.

    • Headlight illumination restarts once voltage returns to operating voltage range (10 to 16 V).

    Input Undervoltage Malfunction
    • When input undervoltage occurs (below 7 V), headlight illumination stops.

    • Headlight illumination restarts once voltage returns to operating voltage range (10 to 16 V).
