  1. POWER MIRROR CONTROL SYSTEM (w/o Memory) DESCRIPTION


    1. This system has the following functions: electrical remote control mirror function, power retract mirror function*1, auto power retract mirror function*3 and mirror heater function*2.


      • *1: w/ Power Retract Mirror

      • *3: w/ Automatic Retractable Mirror

  2. FUNCTION OF MAIN COMPONENT

    Component Function
    Outer rear view mirror assembly Vertical mirror motor Receives signals from the outer mirror switch assembly and adjusts the mirror surface position vertically.
    Horizontal mirror motor Receives signals from the outer mirror switch assembly and adjusts the mirror surface position horizontally.
    Power retract mirror motor*3 Receives a signal from outer mirror switch assembly, and retracts and returns the outer rear view mirror assemblies.
    Mirror heater*4 When the mirror heater switch (rear window defogger switch) on the radio and display receiver assembly*1 or air conditioning control assembly*2 is operated, the air conditioning amplifier assembly detects the switch operation via CAN communication*1 or LIN communication*2. The air conditioning amplifier assembly operates DEF relay and mirror heaters in accordance with the switch operation.
    Outer mirror switch assembly Mirror select and surface adjust switch

    • Consists of R and L switches. One must be chosen to operate the outer mirror switch assembly.

    • After selecting the R or L switch, the right, left, up and down control switches can be operated to change the angle of the mirror surface.
    Retractable outer mirror switch*3 Retracts and returns the outer rear view mirror assemblies.
    Auto retractable outer mirror switch*5 Built into the outer mirror switch assembly and sends the mirror AUTO retract switch signal to the main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU).

  3. SYSTEM OPERATION


    1. The power mirror control system (w/o Memory) has the following features:

      Function Outline
      Electrical remote control mirror function When the outer mirror switch assembly is operated, this function moves the mirror surface vertically or horizontally to enable the driver to attain an optimal mirror angle. Turning the mirror select switch to the R position operates the right side mirror, and turning the mirror select switch to the L position operates the left side mirror.
      Power retract mirror function*1 Retracts and returns the outer rear view mirror assemblies when the mirror retract switch is operated.
      Auto power retract mirror function*3

      Retracts and returns each outer rear view mirror assembly together with the following operations while the auto power retract mirror switch is on.


      • Manual lock/unlock

      • Key-linked lock/unlock

      • Wireless door lock/unlock

      • Wireless 30 seconds auto lock

      • Entry lock/unlock

      • Smart 30 seconds auto lock
      Mirror heater function*2

      Turns on the mirror heaters when the rear window defogger is turned on. The rear window defogger and mirror heaters automatically turn off 15 minutes after the rear window defogger and mirror heaters were activated. The rear window defogger and mirror heaters continue to operate up to an additional 45 minutes if the following conditions are met.


      • The outside temperature is -3°C (27°F) or lower.

      • Power generated by the generator assembly is stable.
