FUEL INJECTOR(for Port Injection) INSTALLATION

PROCEDURE

1. INSTALL FUEL INJECTOR ASSEMBLY

   
   

   1. Apply gasoline to a new fuel injector O-ring and a new fuel injector grommet, and then install them to the injector.

      Note

      Check that there is no damage or foreign material in the groove of the injector when installing the fuel injector O-ring and fuel injector grommet.

   2. Install the 4 fuel injector assemblies to the fuel delivery pipe.

      Note

      
      

      • Check that there are no foreign objects or scratches in the insertion opening of the fuel delivery pipe.

      • Take sufficient care not to twist the O-ring.

      • If the injector does not rotate smoothly after installing it to the fuel delivery pipe, remove the injector and reinstall it with a new O-ring.

2. INSTALL FUEL INJECTOR SEAL (for Bank 1)

   
   

   1. Install 2 new fuel injector seals.

3. INSTALL FUEL INJECTOR SEAL

4. INSTALL FUEL INJECTOR SEAL (for Bank 2)

   
   

   1. Install 2 new fuel injector seals.

5. INSTALL FUEL DELIVERY PIPE (for Bank 1)

   
   

   1. Install the fuel delivery pipe (with injector) to the intake manifold with the 2 bolts.

      Torque:

      19 N*m  { 194 kgf*cm, 14 ft.*lbf }

   2. Engage the clamp to connect the wire harness.

   3. Connect the 2 fuel injector assembly connectors.

      Tech Tips

      Connect the connector, aligning it with the baffles on the fuel injector assembly on the fuel delivery pipe.

   4. Connect the fuel delivery tube to the fuel delivery pipe Click here.

6. INSTALL FUEL DELIVERY PIPE (for Bank 2)

   
   

   1. Install the fuel delivery pipe (with injector) to the intake manifold with the 2 bolts.

      Torque:

      19 N*m  { 194 kgf*cm, 14 ft.*lbf }

   2. Connect the 2 injector connectors and clamp.

      Tech Tips

      Connect the connector, aligning it with the baffles on the fuel injector assembly on the fuel delivery pipe.

   3. Connect the fuel delivery tube to the fuel delivery pipe Click here.

7. INSTALL FUEL DELIVERY PIPE SUB-ASSEMBLY (for Clamp Type)

   
   

   1. Connect the No. 2 fuel vapor feed hose to the fuel delivery pipe sub-assembly.

   2. Install the fuel delivery pipe sub-assembly to the intake manifold with the bolt.

      Torque:

      6.4 N*m  { 65 kgf*cm, 57 in.*lbf }

8. CONNECT NO. 1 FUEL HOSE (for Clamp Type)

   
   

   1. Connect the No. 1 fuel hose to the fuel delivery pipe with the clamp.

   2. Tighten the hose clamp bolt.

9. INSTALL INJECTOR COVER (for Bank 2)

   
   

   1. for Resin Intake Manifold:

      
      

      1. Install the injector cover (for bank 2) to the intake manifold with the 2 bolts.

         Torque:

         19 N*m  { 194 kgf*cm, 14 ft.*lbf }

   2. for Aluminum Intake Manifold:

      
      

      1. Engage the 2 guides and install the injector cover to the intake manifold with the 2 bolts.

         Torque:

         19 N*m  { 194 kgf*cm, 14 ft.*lbf }

   3. Install the wire harness clamp bracket to the injector cover (for bank 2) with the bolt.

      Torque:

      11 N*m  { 112 kgf*cm, 8 ft.*lbf }

10. CONNECT NO. 2 FUEL HOSE (for Metal Type)

    
    

    1. Connect the No. 2 fuel hose to the fuel delivery pipe sub-assembly with the clamp.

11. CONNECT NO. 3 FUEL HOSE (for Metal Type)

    
    

    1. Connect the No. 3 fuel hose to the fuel delivery pipe sub-assembly Click here.

12. CONNECT NO. 1 FUEL HOSE (for Metal Type)

    
    

    1. Connect the No. 1 fuel hose to the fuel delivery pipe Click here.

13. INSTALL INJECTOR COVER (for Bank 1)

    
    

    1. for Resin Intake Manifold:

       
       

       1. Install the injector cover (for bank 1) to the intake manifold with the 2 bolts.

          Torque:

          19 N*m  { 194 kgf*cm, 14 ft.*lbf }

    2. for Aluminum Intake Manifold:

       
       

       1. Engage the 2 guides and install the injector cover to the intake manifold with the 2 bolts.

          Torque:

          19 N*m  { 194 kgf*cm, 14 ft.*lbf }

    3. Engage the 4 clamps to install the wire harness to the injector cover (for bank 1).

16. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
