FRONT DOOR OUTSIDE MOULDING REASSEMBLY

CAUTION / NOTICE / HINT

Tip:
  • Use the same procedure for the RH and LH sides.

  • The procedure listed below is for the LH side.

PROCEDURE

  1. INSTALL FRONT DOOR UPPER OUTSIDE MOULDING PAD

    1. Clean the front door upper outside moulding pad installation surface with a non-residue solvent.

    2. Apply primer to the front door upper outside moulding pad installation area on the front door outside moulding.

      Note:

      Apply primer evenly so that there are no uncoated areas.

    3. Remove the peeling paper on a new front door upper outside moulding pad while making sure not to touch the adhesional surface.

      Install a new front door upper outside moulding pad in the position shown in the illustration.

      Note:
      • Press the double-sided tape on the front door upper outside moulding pad firmly to attach.

      • After the primer dries (3 minutes or more), install the front door upper outside moulding pad.

      • After applying primer, reapply primer after 24 hours elapse.

  2. INSTALL FRONT DOOR OUTSIDE MOULDING PAD

    Tip:

    When installing the front door outside moulding pad, heat the front door outside moulding using a heat light.

    Note:

    Do not heat the front door outside moulding excessively.

    1. Clean the front door outside moulding surface.

      1. Using a heat light, heat the front door outside moulding surface.

      2. Remove the double-sided tape from the front door outside moulding.

      3. Wipe off any tape adhesive residue with cleaner.

      Install a new front door outside moulding pad.

      1. Using a heat light, heat the front door outside moulding.

      2. Remove the peeling paper from the face of the front door outside moulding pad.

        Tip:

        After removing the peeling paper, keep the exposed adhesive free from foreign matter.

      3. Install the front door outside moulding pad as shown in the illustration.

        Tip:

        Press the front door outside moulding pad firmly to install it.

  3. INSTALL FRONT DOOR REAR OUTSIDE MOULDING PAD

    Tip:

    When installing the front door rear outside moulding pad, heat the front door outside moulding using a heat light.

      Install 6 new front door rear outside moulding pads.

      1. Using a heat light, heat the front door outside moulding.

      2. Remove the peeling paper from the face of the 6 front door rear outside moulding pads.

        Tip:

        After removing the peeling paper, keep the exposed adhesive free from foreign matter.

      3. Install the 6 front door rear outside moulding pads as shown in the illustration.

        Tip:

        Press the front door rear outside moulding pad firmly to install it.

  4. INSTALL NO. 2 OUTSIDE MOULDING SEAL

    Tip:

    When installing the No. 2 outside moulding seal, heat the front door outside moulding using a heat light.

      Install 2 new No. 2 outside moulding seals.

      1. Using a heat light, heat the front door outside moulding.

      2. Remove the peeling paper from the face of the 2 No. 2 outside moulding seals.

        Tip:

        After removing the peeling paper, keep the exposed adhesive free from foreign matter.

      3. Install the 2 No. 2 outside moulding seals as shown in the illustration.

        Tip:

        Press the No. 2 outside moulding seal firmly to install it.
