FUEL INJECTOR INSTALLATION

PROCEDURE

1. INSTALL FUEL INJECTOR ASSEMBLY

   Tech Tips

   Perform "Inspection After Repairs" after replacing the fuel injector assembly.

   1. 

      *1	O-Ring
      *2	Injector Vibration Insulator

      Install a new injector vibration insulator and a new O-ring to each fuel injector assembly.

   2. Apply a light coat of gasoline or spindle oil to the O-ring of the fuel injector assembly.

   3. 

      While turning the fuel injector assembly left and right, install it to the fuel delivery pipe sub-assembly.

      Note

      
      

      • Do not twist the O-ring.

      • After installing the fuel injector assemblies, check that they turn smoothly. If not, replace the O-ring with a new one.

2. INSTALL NO. 1 DELIVERY PIPE SPACER

   
   

   1. 

      Install the 2 No. 1 delivery pipe spacers to the cylinder head sub-assembly.

      Note

      Install the No. 1 delivery pipe spacers in the correct direction.

3. INSTALL FUEL DELIVERY PIPE SUB-ASSEMBLY

   
   

   1. Install the fuel delivery pipe sub-assembly with the 4 fuel injector assemblies, and then temporarily install the 2 bolts.

      Note

      
      

      • Do not drop the fuel injector assemblies when installing the fuel delivery pipe sub-assembly.

      • Check that the fuel injector assemblies rotate smoothly after installing the fuel delivery pipe sub-assembly.

   2. Install the fuel delivery pipe sub-assembly with the 2 bolts.

      Torque:

      21 N*m  { 214 kgf*cm, 15 ft.*lbf }

   3. Connect the clamp to the cylinder head sub-assembly with the bolt.

      Torque:

      21 N*m  { 214 kgf*cm, 15 ft.*lbf }

4. INSTALL VACUUM SENSOR BRACKET

5. INSTALL VACUUM SENSOR ASSEMBLY

6. CONNECT FUEL TUBE SUB-ASSEMBLY

   
   

   1. Connect the fuel tube sub-assembly and install a new EFI fuel pipe clamp.

      Click here

7. INSTALL WIRE HARNESS CLAMP BRACKET

   
   

   1. Install the wire harness clamp bracket with the 2 nuts.

      Torque:

      18 N*m  { 184 kgf*cm, 13 ft.*lbf }

8. CONNECT ENGINE WIRE

9. INSTALL BATTERY TRAY

10. INSTALL BATTERY

11. INSTALL BATTERY CLAMP SUB-ASSEMBLY

12. INSTALL AIR CLEANER CASE SUB-ASSEMBLY

    Click here

13. INSTALL AIR CLEANER FILTER ELEMENT SUB-ASSEMBLY

14. INSTALL AIR CLEANER CAP AND HOSE

15. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

    Note

    When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected.

16. INSPECT FOR FUEL LEAK

    
    

    1. Make sure that there are no fuel leaks after performing maintenance on the fuel system.

       
       

       1. Connect the GTS to the DLC3.

       2. Turn the engine switch on (IG), and push the GTS on.

          Note

          Do not start the engine.

       3. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Engine and ECT / Active Test / Control the Fuel Pump / Speed.

          
          Powertrain > Engine and ECT > Active Test

          Tester Display
          Control the Fuel Pump / Speed

       4. Check that there are no leaks from the fuel system.

       5. Turn the engine switch off.

       6. Disconnect the GTS from the DLC3.

17. INSTALL NO. 2 CYLINDER HEAD COVER
