PARKING BRAKE CABLE REMOVAL

PROCEDURE

  1. REMOVE REAR CONSOLE BOX SUB-ASSEMBLY

  2. REMOVE NO. 2 CONSOLE BOX MOUNTING BRACKET

  3. REMOVE PARKING BRAKE EQUALIZER

      Lock Nut

      *2

      No. 1 Cable Adjusting Nut

      Loosen the lock nut and No. 1 cable adjusting nut to completely release the No. 1 parking brake cable assembly.

      Disconnect the 3 cable ends and remove the parking brake equalizer.

  4. REMOVE REAR WHEEL

  5. DISCONNECT REAR DISC BRAKE CYLINDER ASSEMBLY LH

  6. DISCONNECT REAR DISC BRAKE CYLINDER ASSEMBLY RH

    Tip:

    Use the same procedure described for the LH side.

  7. REMOVE REAR DISC LH

  8. INSTALL REAR DISC RH

    Tip:

    Use the same procedure described for the LH side.

  9. REMOVE PARKING BRAKE CABLE

    1. Remove the 2 casing cap bolts (labeled A) from the vehicle body.

    2. Remove the 2 bolts (labeled B) from the fuel tank band.

    3. Remove the 2 bolts (labeled C) from the No. 3 cable support bracket.

    4. Remove the 2 bolts (labeled D) from the rear suspension crossmember.

    5. Remove the 2 bolts (labeled E) from the trailing arms.

    6. Disconnect the cables from the parking brake shoe levers and backing plates.

      1. Disconnect the cables from the levers.

        Remove the bolts and disconnect the cables from the backing plates.

  10. REMOVE NO. 3 CABLE SUPPORT BRACKE

    1. C346266

      Remove the 2 bolts from the No. 3 cable support bracket.
