FUEL INJECTOR(for Port Injection) INSTALLATION

PROCEDURE


  1. INSTALL PORT FUEL INJECTOR ASSEMBLY

    Perform "Inspection After Repair" after replacing a port fuel injector assembly.

    1. Apply a light coat of spindle oil or gasoline to 4 new O-rings, and install 1 to each port fuel injector assembly.

      Note

      Check that there is no damage or foreign matter on the groove of the port fuel injector assembly when installing each O-ring to the port fuel injector assembly.

    2. Apply a light coat of gasoline or spindle oil where the fuel delivery pipe contacts each O-ring.

      Install the 4 port fuel injector assemblies to the fuel delivery pipe.

      Note


      • Make sure that the port fuel injector assembly is located within the stopper as shown in the illustration.

      • Check that the port fuel injector assembly installation holes of the fuel delivery pipe are not damaged and are free of foreign matter.

      • Make sure that the O-ring is not damaged, twisted or moved out of place when installing the port fuel injector assembly.

  2. INSTALL FUEL DELIVERY PIPE


    1. Install 4 new injector vibration insulators to the cylinder head sub-assembly.

    2. Install the 2 fuel delivery spacers to the cylinder head sub-assembly.

    3. Place the fuel delivery pipe with the 4 port fuel injector assemblies onto the cylinder head sub-assembly.

      Note

      Be careful not to drop the port fuel injector assemblies when installing the fuel delivery pipe.

    4. Install the fuel delivery pipe with the port fuel injector assemblies with the 2 bolts.

      Torque:
      21 N*m  { 214 kgf*cm, 15 ft.*lbf }
  3. CONNECT NO. 6 ENGINE WIRE


    1. Engage the 3 clamps to connect the No. 6 engine wire to the fuel delivery pipe.

    2. Connect the 4 port fuel injector assembly connectors.

  4. CONNECT FUEL TUBE SUB-ASSEMBLY


    1. Connect the fuel tube sub-assembly to the fuel delivery pipe.

  5. TEMPORARILY INSTALL NO. 1 FUEL PIPE SUB-ASSEMBLY

  6. INSTALL FUEL PUMP ASSEMBLY

    Click here

  7. INSTALL NO. 1 FUEL PIPE SUB-ASSEMBLY

    Click here

  8. INSTALL NO. 1 AIR TUBE

    Click here

  9. INSTALL FUEL PUMP PROTECTOR

    Click here

  10. INSTALL INTAKE MANIFOLD

    Click here

  11. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

    Note

    When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected.

  12. INSPECT FOR FUEL LEAK

    Click here

  13. PERFORM INITIALIZATION


    1. Perform "Inspection After Repair" after replacing a port fuel injector assembly.
