REAR SUSPENSION SYSTEM

  1. CONSTRUCTION

    1. Rear Coil Spring and Rear Shock Absorber Assembly

      1. Both ends of the coil spring are formed into a small-diameter, pigtail shape. The compact construction is designed to accommodate the low floor package.

      2. Spring insulators are provided at the top and bottom ends of the rear coil springs, and the thickness of the insulators is optimized to reduce vibration and achieve excellent ride comfort.

      3. Low-pressure N2gas sealed rear shock absorber assemblies deliver stable damping force characteristics, providing excellent maneuverability and ride comfort.

        Note

To prevent hazardous conditions, make sure to empty the gas from the shock absorber before discarding an N2gas sealed shock absorber. For details, refer to the Repair Manual.

    2. Axle Beam and Trailing Arm

      1. The axle beam offers not only high rigidity but also stability due to optimization of the shear center.

      2. The trailing arms are secured to the body via angled rear axle carrier bushes.
