REAR WIPER MOTOR INSTALLATION

PROCEDURE

  1. INSTALL REAR WIPER MOTOR HOLDER WITH PACKING

    1. Engage the guide to install the rear wiper motor holder with packing.

  2. INSTALL BACK WINDOW LOCK STRIKER ASSEMBLY (w/o Entry and Start System)

  3. INSTALL BACK WINDOW LOCK STRIKER ASSEMBLY (w/ Entry and Start System)

    Click here

  4. INSTALL REAR WIPER MOTOR ASSEMBLY

    1. Insert the shaft of the rear wiper motor assembly into the back door glass hole.

    2. E295180

      Install the rear wiper motor assembly with the bolt.

      5.5 N*m

      56 kgf*cm

      49 in.*lbf

    3. Engage the clamp.

    4. Connect the connector.

  5. INSTALL NO. 1 REAR WIPER LINK PIVOT WASHER

    1. Engage the guide to install the No. 1 rear wiper link pivot washer to the rear wiper motor grommet.

  6. INSTALL NO. 1 REAR WIPER LINK PIVOT WASHER WITH REAR WIPER MOTOR GROMMET

    1. Install the No. 1 rear wiper link pivot washer with rear wiper motor grommet with the nut.

      12 N*m

      122 kgf*cm

      9 ft.*lbf

  7. INSTALL REAR WIPER LINK CAP

      Rear Wiper Link Cap Lip

      Apply MP grease to the entire surface of the rear wiper link cap lip.

      Tip:

      Make sure that the hole does not get clogged with grease and the grooves of the lip are filled with grease.

    2. Install the rear wiper link cap.

  8. INSTALL REAR WIPER MOTOR COVER

    1. E364896

      Engage the guide as shown in the illustration.

    2. Engage the 3 claws and 2 guides to install the rear wiper motor cover as shown in the illustration.

  9. INSTALL REAR WIPER ARM AND BLADE ASSEMBLY

      Wiper Arm Serration

      When reusing the rear wiper arm and blade assembly:

      1. Clean the wiper arm serrations to remove any burrs, dirt, etc.

        Note:

        Do not grind down the wiper arm serrations.

      Wiper Pivot Serration

      When reusing the rear wiper motor assembly:

      1. Clean the wiper pivot serrations with a wire brush.

    3. Operate the wiper and stop the rear wiper motor assembly at the automatic stop position.

      Install the rear wiper arm and blade assembly with the nut to the position shown in the illustration.

      5.5 N*m

      56 kgf*cm

      Tip:

      Hold the wiper arm by hand while tightening the nut.

    5. Operate the rear wiper while spraying windshield washer fluid onto the back door glass. Make sure that the rear wiper functions properly and the wiper does not come into contact with the vehicle body.

    6. Lift the wiper arm twice after the wiper stops and check the wiper set position.

  10. INSTALL REAR WIPER ARM HEAD CAP

    Tip:

    When replace the rear wiper arm head cap.

    1. Engage the 2 claws to install the rear wiper arm head cap.

  11. CONNECT REAR WIPER ARM HEAD CAP

      Engage the 2 claws to connect the rear wiper arm head cap as shown in the illustration.
