According to current from the ECM, the shift solenoid valve SLS controls secondary pulley pressure and belt clamping pressure in accordance with the input shaft torque.

MONITOR DESCRIPTION

This DTC indicates an open or short in the shift solenoid valve SLS circuit. If there is an open or short in the shift solenoid valve SLS circuit, the ECM detects the malfunction, illuminates the MIL and stores this DTC.

After performing repair, clear the DTCs and perform the following procedure to check that DTCs are not output.


  1. Perform the D position test in Road Test.

PROCEDURE


  1. INSPECT TRANSMISSION WIRE (SHIFT SOLENOID VALVE SLS)

      (Transmission Wire)

      Disconnect the D35 transmission wire connector.

    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      2 (SLS+) - 8 (SLS-) 20°C (68°F) 5.0 to 5.6 Ω
      2 (SLS+) - Body ground and other terminals Always 10 kΩ or higher
      8 (SLS-) - Body ground and other terminals Always 10 kΩ or higher
    3. Connect the D35 transmission wire connector.

  2. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (TRANSMISSION WIRE - ECM)


    1. Disconnect the D1 ECM connector.

    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      D1-15 (SLS+) - D1-14 (SLS-) 20°C (68°F) 5.0 to 5.6 Ω
      D1-15 (SLS+) - Body ground and other terminals Always 10 kΩ or higher
      D1-14 (SLS-) - Body ground and other terminals Always 10 kΩ or higher
    3. Connect the D1 ECM connector.
