CAUTION / NOTICE / HINT

The necessary procedures (adjustment, calibration, initialization, or registration) that must be performed after parts are removed, installed, or replaced during the airbag sensor assembly removal/installation are shown below.

    Note

    After turning the ignition switch off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal. Therefore, make sure to read the disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal notices before proceeding with work.

  2. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL


    CAUTION:


    • B008LDR

      Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system.

    • If an SRS part is accidentally deployed, it may cause a serious injury.

    Note

    When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected.

  3. REMOVE REAR CONSOLE BOX ASSEMBLY

  4. REMOVE REAR NO. 2 AIR DUCT (w/ Rear Air Duct)

      B008KJ9 Remove in this direction (2)

      Disengage the claws to remove the rear No. 2 air duct as shown in the illustration.

  5. REMOVE AIRBAG SENSOR ASSEMBLY


    1. Check that the ignition switch off.

    2. Check that the cable is disconnected from the negative (-) battery terminal.

      CAUTION:

      Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system.

      Remove the clip and turn back the front floor carpet assembly as shown in the illustration (for LH side).

      Remove the clip and turn back the front floor carpet assembly as shown in the illustration (for RH side).

      B008LJK Release in this direction

      Disconnect the connectors from the airbag sensor assembly as shown in the illustration.

      Note

      When disconnecting any airbag connector, take care not to damage the airbag wire harness.

      Remove the 3 bolts and airbag sensor assembly.
