STARTER(for Denso Made with Stop and Start System) INSTALLATION

PROCEDURE


  1. INSTALL STARTER ASSEMBLY

    Perform "clear number of starter operations" after replacing a starter assembly.

    1. Install the starter assembly to the cylinder block sub-assembly with the 2 bolts.

      Torque:
      37 N*m  { 377 kgf*cm, 27 ft.*lbf }

      Note

      After the starter assembly is replaced, be sure to clear the number of starter operations stored in the engine stop and start ECU.

    2. Connect the wire harness to the terminal 30 with the nut.

      Torque:
      9.8 N*m  { 100 kgf*cm, 87 in.*lbf }

    3. Close the terminal cap.

      Install the terminal cap protector to the terminal cap and secure it with the clamp.

    5. Connect the starter assembly connector.

  2. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

    Note

    When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected.

  3. INSTALL NO. 1 ENGINE UNDER COVER

  4. PERFORM INITIALIZATION
