Tech Tips


  • Use the same procedure for RHD and LHD vehicles.

  • The following procedure is for LHD vehicles.

PROCEDURE


  1. INSTALL AIRBAG SENSOR ASSEMBLY


    1. Check that the ignition switch off.

    2. Check that the cable is disconnected from the negative (-) battery terminal.

      CAUTION:

      Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system.

      Install the airbag sensor assembly with the 3 bolts.

      Torque:
      17.5 N*m  { 178 kgf*cm, 13 ft.*lbf }

      Note


      • If the airbag sensor assembly has been dropped, or there are any cracks, dents or other defects in the case or connector, replace it with a new one.

      • When installing the airbag sensor assembly, make sure that the SRS wiring does not interfere with or is not pinched between other parts.

      • When the ignition switch is first turned ON after the airbag sensor assembly has been replaced, make sure that no one is in the vehicle.

      Connect the connectors to the airbag sensor assembly as shown in the illustration.

      Note

      When connecting any airbag connector, take care not to damage the airbag wire harness.

    5. w/o Rear Air Duct:


      1. B008KM7

        Check that the waterproof sheet is properly set.

    6. Check that there is no looseness in the installed parts of the airbag sensor assembly.

      Return the front floor carpet assembly and install the clip as shown in the illustration (for LH side).

    8. B008KPE

      Return the front floor carpet assembly and install the clip as shown in the illustration (for RH side).

  2. INSTALL REAR NO. 2 AIR DUCT (w/ Rear Air Duct)

      B008LJK Install in this direction (1)
      B008KJ9 Install in this direction (2)

      Engage the claws to install the rear No. 2 air duct as shown in the illustration.

    2. B008LS3C01
      *a Waterproof Sheet

      Check that the waterproof sheet is properly set as shown in the illustration.

  3. INSTALL REAR CONSOLE BOX ASSEMBLY

  4. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL


    Note

    When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected.

  5. PERFORM DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM CHECK

  6. INSPECT SRS WARNING LIGHT

    Click here

  7. PERFORM ZERO POINT CALIBRATION


    1. When the airbag sensor assembly is replaced, perform zero point calibration.

  8. PERFORM REGISTRATION (w/ Stop And Start System)


    1. When the airbag sensor assembly is replaced, perform registration.
