AIR CONDITIONING UNIT DISASSEMBLY

PROCEDURE


  1. REMOVE NO. 2 INSTRUMENT PANEL WIRE (w/ PTC Heater)

      Disconnect the 2 connectors.

    2. Disengage each clamp to remove the No. 2 instrument panel wire.

  2. REMOVE NO. 2 AIR DUCT

      Remove the screw.

    2. Disengage the 3 claws to remove the No. 2 air duct.

      Note

      Be careful not to deform or damage the lower heater case of the air conditioner unit assembly when removing the No. 2 air duct.

  3. REMOVE GROMMET (for Manual Air Conditioning System)

      Disengage the 2 claws to remove the grommet.

  4. REMOVE ASPIRATOR (for Automatic Air Conditioning System)

      Disengage the guide and 2 claws to remove the aspirator.

  5. REMOVE BLOWER ASSEMBLY

  6. REMOVE AIR CONDITIONING AMPLIFIER ASSEMBLY


    1. for LHD:

        B00847Z Remove in this Direction

        Disconnect the connector.

      2. Remove the screw.

      3. Disengage the guide to remove the air conditioning amplifier assembly as shown in the illustration.

    2. for RHD:

        B00847Z Remove in this Direction

        Disconnect the connector.

      2. Remove the screw.

      3. Disengage the guide to remove the air conditioning amplifier assembly as shown in the illustration.

  7. REMOVE AIR CONDITIONING HARNESS ASSEMBLY


    1. for LHD:


      1. B0085HXC01
        *A for 3 Zone Type

        Disconnect each connector.

      2. Disengage each clamp to remove the air conditioning harness assembly.

    2. for RHD:


      1. B0083FW

        Disconnect each connector.

      2. Disengage each clamp to remove the air conditioning harness assembly.

  8. REMOVE HEATER COVER (w/o PTC Heater)

      Remove the screw.

    2. Remove the heater cover as shown in the illustration.

  9. REMOVE NO. 2 HEATER COVER (w/ PTC Heater)

      Remove the screw.

    2. Disengage the claw and each guide to remove the No. 2 heater cover.

  10. REMOVE QUICK HEATER ASSEMBLY (w/ PTC Heater)

      Remove the quick heater assembly as shown in the illustration.

  11. REMOVE DRAIN COOLER HOSE

      Remove the drain cooler hose.

  12. REMOVE NO. 1 AIR CONDITIONING RADIATOR DAMPER SERVO SUB-ASSEMBLY

      Remove the 3 screws and No. 1 air conditioning radiator damper servo sub-assembly.

  13. REMOVE NO. 2 AIR CONDITIONING RADIATOR DAMPER SERVO SUB-ASSEMBLY

      Remove the 2 screws and No. 2 air conditioning radiator damper servo sub-assembly.

  14. REMOVE NO. 3 AIR CONDITIONING RADIATOR DAMPER SERVO SUB-ASSEMBLY (for 3 Zone Type)

      Remove the 2 screws and No. 3 air conditioning radiator damper servo sub-assembly.

  15. REMOVE HEATER PIPE GROMMET

      Remove the heater pipe grommet.

  16. REMOVE HEATER CLAMP


    1. B0086S4

      Disengage the 3 claws to remove the heater clamp.

  17. REMOVE HEATER RADIATOR UNIT SUB-ASSEMBLY

      Remove the heater radiator unit sub-assembly as shown in the illustration.

      Note

      Prepare a drain pan or cloth in case the coolant leaks.

  18. REMOVE GROMMET SUB-ASSEMBLY

      Remove the grommet sub-assembly.

  19. REMOVE COOLER EXPANSION VALVE


    1. B0089H0

      Using a 4 mm hexagon socket wrench, remove the 2 hexagon bolts and cooler expansion valve.

    2. Remove the 2 O-rings from the No. 1 cooler evaporator sub-assembly.

  20. REMOVE NO. 1 COOLER EVAPORATOR SUB-ASSEMBLY


    1. Remove the 2 screws.

    2. Disengage the 10 claws to remove the upper heater case with No. 1 cooler evaporator sub-assembly from the lower heater case.

    3. B0086RS

      Disengage the clamp.

    4. Remove the No. 1 cooler evaporator sub-assembly with No. 1 cooler thermistor from the upper heater case.

  21. REMOVE NO. 1 COOLER THERMISTOR
