MAYDAY BATTERY REMOVAL

PROCEDURE


  1. PRECAUTION

    Note

    After turning the engine switch off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from the battery terminal. Therefore, make sure to read the disconnecting the cable from the battery terminal notice before proceeding with work.

  2. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

    Note

    When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected.

  3. REMOVE DOOR SCUFF PLATE ASSEMBLY RH (for RHD)

  4. REMOVE COWL SIDE TRIM BOARD RH (for RHD)

  5. REMOVE CONSOLE ARMREST ASSEMBLY

  6. REMOVE UPPER REAR CONSOLE PANEL

  18. REMOVE NO. 3 TELEPHONE BRACKET (w/ Telematics Transceiver for G-BOOK)

      Remove the nut.

    2. B008HU1

      Detach the 2 claws and remove the No. 3 telephone bracket shown in the illustration.

  19. REMOVE TELEMATICS TRANSCEIVER (w/ Telematics Transceiver except G-BOOK)

  20. REMOVE MAYDAY BATTERY

    CAUTION:


    • Do not reuse dropped or damaged parts.

    • Wear gloves when contacting parts that have been dropped from a height of 1 m or higher.

    • There may be an internal short or the temperature may increase to 100°C or higher due to the shock from being dropped.

    • f an internal short has occurred, gas may be discharged. Therefore, if there is even a small amount of heat, maintain a distance of 3 m or more from the vehicle and wait for 1 minute or longer.

      1. Disconnect the connector and remove the mayday battery.

    2. w/ Telematics Transceiver except G-BOOK

        B008J3K Remove in this Direction (1)
        B008HJ5 Remove in this Direction (2)

        Remove the 2 screws.

        Tech Tips

        Remove the 2 screws together with the battery cover.

      2. Detach the 2 claws and 3 guides and remove the battery cover as shown in the illustration

      3. Disconnect the connector and remove the mobilephone battery as shown in the illustration.
