UPPER INSTRUMENT PANEL INSTALLATION

Tech Tips


  • Use the same procedure for RHD and LHD vehicles.

  • The procedure listed below is for LHD vehicles.

  • A bolt without a torque specification is shown in the standard bolt chart Click here.


  1. INSTALL UPPER INSTRUMENT PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY


    1. for LHD:


      1. Attach the 5 guides and 8 claws to install the upper instrument panel.

      2. Install the 2 bolts <A> and 2 screws <B>.

    2. for RHD:


      1. Attach the 5 guides and 8 claws to install the upper instrument panel.

      2. Install the 2 bolts <A> and 2 screws <B>.

  2. INSTALL FRONT PILLAR GARNISH LH


    1. w/ Curtain Shield Airbag:


      1. Remove the protective cover.

    2. Attach the 2 guides and 2 clips to install the front pillar garnish.

    3. Install the front door opening trim.

  3. INSTALL FRONT PILLAR GARNISH RH

    Tech Tips

    Use the same procedure described for the LH side.

  4. INSTALL FRONT ASSIST GRIP SUB-ASSEMBLY (w/ Assist Grip)

    Tech Tips

    Use the same procedure for both front assist grips.


    1. Install the front assist grip with the 2 screws.

  5. INSTALL FRONT NO. 1 ASSIST GRIP PLUG LH (w/ Assist Grip)

    Tech Tips

    Use the same procedure for both front No. 1 assist grip plugs.


    1. Attach the 2 claws to install the front No. 1 assist grip plug.

  6. INSTALL FRONT NO. 1 ASSIST GRIP PLUG RH (w/ Assist Grip)

    Tech Tips

    Use the same procedure described for the LH side.

  7. INSTALL INSTRUMENT PANEL PASSENGER AIRBAG ASSEMBLY (w/ Front Passenger Airbag)

    1. Attach the 12 claws to install the airbag.

    2. Attach the clamp to the bracket.

    3. A01E1HV

      Tighten the 2 bolts.

      Torque:
      20 N*m  { 204 kgf*cm, 15 ft.*lbf }
    4. A01DWA0

      Connect the connector to the airbag.

      Note

      When handling the airbag connector, do not damage the airbag wire harness.

  8. INSTALL GLOVE COMPARTMENT DOOR ASSEMBLY (w/ Front Passenger Airbag)

    1. Attach the 2 hinges to install the glove compartment door.

      *1 Stopper

      While pushing in the sides of the glove compartment door as indicated by the arrows in the illustration, close the door to engage it to the 2 stoppers.

  9. INSTALL RADIO TUNER OPENING COVER (w/o Audio)


    1. Install the radio tuner opening cover with the 4 screws.

  10. INSTALL RADIO RECEIVER ASSEMBLY (w/ Audio)


    1. for Radio Receiver Type:

  11. INSTALL CENTER INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FINISH PANEL ASSEMBLY


    1. for Manual Air Conditioning System:


      1. Connect the connectors.

      2. Attach the 4 claws to connect the air conditioner control.

      3. Attach the 10 claws and 4 clips to install the center instrument cluster finish panel.

    2. for Automatic Air Conditioning System:


      1. Connect the connectors.

      2. Attach the 8 claws and 4 clips to install the center instrument cluster finish panel.

  12. INSTALL COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY


    1. Connect the connectors and attach the clamp.

    2. Install the combination meter with the 3 screws.

  13. INSTALL NO. 1 INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FINISH PANEL


    1. Attach the 2 claws and 3 guides to install the No. 1 instrument cluster finish panel.

    2. Install the clip <C>.

  14. INSTALL STEERING WHEEL ASSEMBLY

  15. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL (w/ Airbag System)

    When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected Click here.

  16. CHECK SRS WARNING LIGHT (w/ Airbag System)
