PARK / NEUTRAL POSITION SWITCH INSTALLATION

PROCEDURE

  1. INSTALL PARK/NEUTRAL POSITION SWITCH ASSEMBLY

    1. Temporarily install the park/neutral position switch assembly to the continuously variable transaxle assembly with the 2 bolts.

    2. C151660

      Install the lock plate and lock nut to the park/neutral position switch assembly.

    3. Temporarily install the control shaft lever.

    4. C261988E01

      Turn the control shaft lever clockwise until it stops, then turn it counterclockwise 2 notches.

    5. Remove the control shaft lever from the park/ neutral position switch assembly.

      Align the protrusion with the neutral basic line.

    7. Hold the park/neutral position switch assembly in that position and tighten the 2 bolts.

    8. C154977

      Using a screwdriver, stake the lock nut with the lock plate.

    9. Install the control shaft lever to the park/neutral position switch assembly with the nut and washer.

      13 N*m

    10. Connect the park/neutral position switch assembly connector.

  2. INSTALL TRANSMISSION CONTROL CABLE ASSEMBLY

    1. Install the transmission control cable assembly to the No. 1 transmission control cable bracket with a new clip.

    2. Install the transmission control cable assembly to the control shaft lever with the nut.

  9. INSTALL AIR CLEANER FILTER ELEMENT SUB-ASSEMBLY

  10. INSTALL AIR CLEANER CAP SUB-ASSEMBLY

  11. INSTALL NO. 2 CYLINDER HEAD COVER

  12. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

    1. Connect the cable to the negative (-) battery terminal.

      5.4 N*m

      When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected (Click here).
