EMISSION CONTROL SYSTEM

  1. OUTLINE

    1. Exhaust Emission Control System

      1. A NOx Storage Reduction (NSR) catalyst is used to reduce NOx in the exhaust gas.

      2. A Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF) catalyst is used to reduce Particulate Matter (PM) in the exhaust gas.

      3. A H2S oxidation catalyst is used to reduce the H2S in the exhaust gas.

      4. The ECM optimally controls the fuel injection timing, fuel injection volume and EGR gas flow volume based on signals from the air fuel ratio sensor.

      5. Air fuel ratio sensor heater control, which maintains the temperature of the respective sensors at an appropriate level, is used to improve the detection accuracy of oxygen concentration in exhaust gas.

    2. Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) Control

      1. An Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) control is used to reduce exhaust gas emissions.

    3. Catalyst Regeneration Control

      1. A catalyst regeneration control is used to purify the NOx in the NSR catalyst and PM in the DPF catalyst.

    4. Blow-by Gas Ventilation System

      1. A blow-by gas ventilation system is used. This system reduces emissions by forcibly drawing blow-by gas, which includes a large amount of HC, into the intake pipe for combustion.
