FRONT WIPER MOTOR INSTALLATION

PROCEDURE

  1. INSTALL FRONT WIPER MOTOR AND LINK ASSEMBLY

    1. Connect the connector.

      Motor Grommet

      Engage the motor grommet as shown in the illustration.

      Note:

      Be careful not to damage the windshield glass when installing the front wiper motor and link assembly.

    3. Install the front wiper motor and link assembly with the 2 bolts.

      12.5 N*m

      127 kgf*cm

      9 ft.*lbf

    4. Engage the clamp.

  2. INSTALL COWL TOP VENTILATOR LOUVER SUB-ASSEMBLY

    1. Engage the 8 guides as shown in the illustration.

    2. Engage the 3 guides and 5 claws to install the cowl top ventilator louver sub-assembly as shown in the illustration.

    3. Connect the washer hose.

    4. Install the 2 clips.

  3. INSTALL FRONT NO. 2 SIDE AIR GUIDE (w/ Side Air Guide)

    1. E295357N01

      Engage the guide and install the front No. 2 side air guide as indicated by the arrows, in the order shown in the illustration.

  4. INSTALL FRONT SIDE AIR GUIDE (w/ Side Air Guide)

      Engage the guide and install the front side air guide as indicated by the arrows, in the order shown in the illustration.

  5. INSTALL FRONT FENDER TO COWL SIDE SEAL LH

    1. E295186N01

      Engage the claw and guide as indicated by the arrows, in the order shown in the illustration.

    2. Engage the 2 claws to install the front fender to cowl side seal LH.

  6. INSTALL FRONT FENDER TO COWL SIDE SEAL RH

    Tip:

    Use the same procedure as for the LH side.

  7. INSTALL FRONT WIPER ARM AND BLADE ASSEMBLY

      Wiper Arm Serration

      When reusing the front wiper arm and blade assembly:

      1. Clean the wiper arm serrations to remove any burrs, dirt, etc.

        Note:

        Do not grind down the wiper arm serrations.

      Wiper Pivot Serration

      When reusing the front wiper motor and link assembly:

      1. Clean the wiper pivot serrations with a wire brush.

    3. Operate the wiper and stop the front wiper motor and link assembly at the automatic stop position.

    4. Temporarily install the front wiper arm and blade assembly.

      Secondary Arm Rod

      Connect the secondary arm rod as shown in the illustration.

      Dot

      Install the front wiper arm and blade assembly with the nut to the position shown in the illustration.

      20.5 N*m

      209 kgf*cm

      15 ft.*lbf

      Tip:

      Hold the wiper arm by hand while tightening the nut.

    7. Operate the front wiper while spraying washer fluid onto the windshield glass. Make sure that the front wiper function properly and the wiper does not come into contact with the vehicle body.

    8. Lift the wiper arm twice after the wiper stops and check the wiper set position.

  8. INSTALL WINDSHIELD WIPER ARM COVER

    1. E295384

      Engage the 3 claws to install the windshield wiper arm cover.
