ENGINE HOOD MOULDING INSTALLATION


  1. INSTALL FRONT HOOD PROTECTOR

    Tech Tips


    • When installing the front hood protector, heat the vehicle body and front hood protector using a heat light.

    • Use the same procedure for both front hood protectors.

    Standard
    Item Temperature
    Vehicle Body 40 to 60°C (104 to 140°F)
    Front Hood Protector 20 to 30°C (68 to 86°F)

    Note

    Do not heat the vehicle body or front hood protector excessively.


    1. Clean the vehicle body surface.


      1. Using a heat light, heat the vehicle body surface.

      2. Remove the double-sided tape from the vehicle body.

      3. Wipe off any tape adhesive residue with cleaner.

    2. Install a new front hood protector.


      1. Using a heat light, heat the vehicle body and front hood protector.

      2. Remove the peeling paper from the face of the front hood protector.

        Tech Tips

        After removing the peeling paper, keep the exposed adhesive free from foreign matter.

      3. Install the front hood protector in the position shown in the illustration with a force of 29 N (3 kgf) or more.

        Tech Tips

        Press the front hood protector firmly to install it.
