SONIC System
The paint layer composition of Sonic Quartz (L085) is a 6 coat/4 bake (6C4B) and Sonic Titanium (L1J7) is a 5 coat/3 bake (5C3B) with a base coating divided into 2 stages. Also, the 2 stages have separate designs to differentiate them by function. The 1st stage base is a thick layer used to ensure coating performance, while the 2nd stage base is a thin layer designed to have "low solid content and high pigment concentration". This coating method emphasizes the granular quality of the paint, achieving a more three-dimensional exterior color by expressing brighter highlights from a direct light viewing angle and more pronounced shadows when viewed in the shade.

Self-restoring coat (improved scratch-resistant clear coat)
A clear layer which has high anti-scratch performance compared to the previous clear layer is provided. Damage to the paint applies stress to the coating, breaking down or deforming the coating. However, the anti-scratch clear coating makes the coating softer and more elastic, allowing the coating to resist damage and recover from deformation by the elasticity (spring) of the coating. Also, this anti-scratch clear layer uses an extremely highperformance macromolecule polymer developed using nanotechnology (which controls responsiveness and functionality at the molecular level) to maintain coating performance (anti-scratch performance, gloss and color) over a long period of time.
